Hey I joined last year but never introduced myself. I'm a shorebound angler whose primarily interested in light tackle fishing for bass with plugs and other plastic baits. I almost never use real bait because I have way too much nervous energy and am somewhat impatient with standing in one spot. I also relish the challenge in fooling a big bass into taking one of my silly ersatz offerings. I like to move around from spot to spot if nothing is happening. Like many of you I don't like fishing in crowds so for me its mostly a night game.

My personal best from shore is 40". For some reason 90% of my catch are schoolies. I'd like to smash that ratio and start working on some heftier fish. Fishing at night has helped.

I work for the Cape Cod Mosquito Control so if any of you in the town of Yarmouth are suffering from skeeters let me know! My job allows me to see some of the rarer wildlife (man and animal!) to be found on the cape. Always happy to talk about wildlife as well as fishing. -Andy

Herr Andy, welcome to S-B

Good nighttime opportunities for larger fish on the Cape. Keep putting the miles on your feet at night and you will come across more and large (and some &^#%@ seals too)

thanks John. I've really been putting in more time this year and have been keeping logs for three years. Night time has definitely been more productive size wise for me. Luckily my side of the cape is pretty seal free
