I am looking for a small cheap GPS Unit for my skiff. Has to be color and can't be too big. Not looking to spend more than 400, I know it is a shot in the dark but figured I would try.

IMHO Color isn't that important on a gps. Now to see those juicy red balls on a fishfinder, yes, color rocks, but todays gps units are balls on and the black and white gps' distinguish channels to shoal very well. Plus they're way less expensive.

i couldn't disagree more. i think that color is worth every penny, and would never ever consider b&w again.

you can find a garmin 182C dirt cheap on ebay and they are awesome units. then you just need to find the chip you need, not as easy, but if you can do it, you could have an AWESOME setup for under $400. this is fixed mount, not handheld, which i think is what you are looking for.

unless clamming, I never scraped the bottom using a black and white unit.
