Slipknot 06-27-2008, 06:54 PM Ya you can try ice on one half and some heat on the ferrel part to see if it loosens. or you can just ask a guy with hands the size of mine to pull them apart ;) good luck ProfessorM 06-27-2008, 07:12 PM maybe a little penetrating oil, wd-40, and wait a day? riverrat2 06-27-2008, 07:14 PM Mike knows plenty about penetrating oil should be an easy task for him Mike J. 06-27-2008, 07:29 PM Put the ferrul behind your knees and grab the rod on each side and spread your knees apart. gives you more leverage. I'm not too sure I would put any penetrating oil etc on a graphite blank. For a heat source I have used a blow dryer or a wet face cloth heated in a microwave then wrapped around the ferrul. Good luck nightfighter 06-27-2008, 07:47 PM Mike, Be sure you are twisting them apart, just as you would put them together. fishaholic18 06-27-2008, 08:10 PM Ice it on the way to Slips house, that ought to do it.:as: 1dozenraw 06-27-2008, 08:24 PM Yup... ice. Wrap the ferrule in a bag of ice and let it sit for a while... like 1/2 hour. Usually that's all it takes. I don't like the WD40 idea... but that's me. Or the heat.... Ice.... just ice. gone fishin 06-27-2008, 08:38 PM I had one that was stuck (I didn't rinse off after use and the season I stored the rod over the winter) and couldn't separate the parts using the above methods. I finally used PB - a penetrating catalist - on it. I let it set a while and it came apart easily. Just remember to clean the PB off after separating the sections. Two piece rods are a pain.:wall: Slingah 06-27-2008, 09:12 PM use one of your crusty socks....and you don't even own a 2-piece:bs: In The Surf 06-27-2008, 10:44 PM pee on it then ice it :jester: NIB 06-28-2008, 05:10 AM Ice it on the way to Slips house, that ought to do it.:as: If Slip can't do it..Ur now the proud owner of a one piece.. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
