Iran has been accused of doctoring an image from its missile tests
http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/img/v3/inline_dashed_line.gif

Iran has been accused of altering an image of a missile test, possibly to exaggerate its military capabilities.
Iran announced on Wednesday it had test-fired nine missiles, including one it said was capable of reaching Israel.
Four missiles appear to take off from a desert launch pad in one image of the test published on the Iranian Revolutionary Guards website.
But a similar image has emerged that shows one missile still in its launcher after apparently failing to fire.

Now the Farking funny - look at the pictures:

Don't worry about them. They are reasonable people. Nothing we can't solve over glass of wine.

Who is reasonable? Iran?

Hopefully this is just continued posturing while a deal gets worked out - and I hope a deal does get worked out.

I'm not beating a drum to go to war with Iran but we could be in for some interesting times for certain.

As far as worrying about them, as in the Iranian missiles? Those that could reach Israel, and they are not that many of them, would be likely intercepted by TMD capable Navy ships in the Persian Gulf and the eastern Med, Patriot, Israel's Arrow missiles, and goodly collection of other point and area defenses in the region. Iran's threat to close the Straight of Hormuz wouldn't last very long.

I do worry the middle east goes up in more flames than it is now but contrary to popular belief, it is not like Iran is in the driver's seat right now.

Well the Bush administration seems to have worked out a deal with N Korea.
Haven't heard much about that. Who knows, maybe Iran will come around. We can all pray it does not come to war. Sometimes that is the answer that no one wants to hear.

If anything this just shows how Iran has little ability to fight a conventional war. Remember Saddam's whole gig was to pretend his bite was really as bad as his bark, and Iran is in a similar position.

They are playing a dangerous game though. Saddam didn't seem to believe we would really take him out, and one could assume that Iran doesn't really believe we would attack either.

The upcoming election in Iran will be very telling. Their economy is in the gutter and few (including the Mullahs who really run the show) are happy with their President's rantings. It's quite likely that he will be tossed from office and replaced with someone more moderate.

Then you do have a real situation where diplomacy in the form of both carrots and sticks could go a long way towards reducing tensions. A peace deal in Palestine, which is looking like could be a reality, would really change the dynamic over there as well.
