View Full Version : Wobblehead Eel Tube on the rocks ,SCORES!
Pt.JudeJoe 07-12-2008, 05:13 PM It was a dark ,foggy night with too big waves......just the way we like it .:kewl: I put the 3 oz. Eel just on the edge of the suds near a rock and Bang! That's the great thing about these lures ,they catch trolling and casting.
BassDawg 07-12-2008, 05:16 PM NICE Fish, Joe!!
Well Done, Lad, and must be especially
gratifying when going Large on yer own LURES!!

1dozenraw 07-12-2008, 09:13 PM Nice Joe... but, I have a question. What kind of retrieve did you use (do you recommend) when you use them in the rocks. I have tried and I have gotten hung up. Perhaps I'm not retrieving fast enough... not sure. Any help from anyone always appreciated. Meanwhile... nice fish.
Crafty Angler 07-12-2008, 11:45 PM Excellent!
Attaboy Joe - way to go :btu::btu::btu:

Crafty Angler 07-12-2008, 11:57 PM Wow - you look all Salty and intense.
Yeah, there's gonna be a lot of women wanting copies of that picture for their nightstand :humpty:
Pt.JudeJoe 07-13-2008, 01:08 AM sweet!! did u have a sea worm on the tube?
No worm just a steady retrieve like fishing a live eel.
1 Doz Raw...it was rough water so that helps suspend the tube ,but basically just keep it coming with a little rod action to make it dip now and then. If you're getting hung up in shallow water maybe try the lighter 1 1/2 oz. Wobblehead Eel tube.
cheferson 07-13-2008, 01:21 AM Nice fish Joe!!!
piemma 07-13-2008, 04:51 AM real nice fish, Joe

scottw 07-13-2008, 07:14 AM nice fish neighbor, score one for Bedlow, I was using mine as well that night, with so much eel grass around it was the only thing I could throw effectively, everything else came up draped but the thin profile and single hooks made me glad I had it in the bag...
Rob Rockcrawler 07-13-2008, 07:35 AM Nice catch. I had confidence in my wobblehead when i bought it. Then standing on a jetty on the block while taking it out of my plug bag i dropped it. Before i even clipped it on.
cow tamer 07-13-2008, 04:24 PM Catching a trophy on your own lure . . . . Priceless!!

BasicPatrick 07-14-2008, 12:25 PM I absolutley love the wobble action on the Wobble Head. That thing is soooooooo sexy. I have not scored Large on it yet, but have caught a bunch of smaller keepers. Great in an outflow as well.
The Dad Fisherman 07-14-2008, 12:44 PM Seriously Sweet.....

Pt.JudeJoe 07-17-2008, 02:20 PM I was on the Cape earlier that day and I was talking with the Senior Angler....he just wrote to me. ..... ."JO JO
Nice fish....I didn't read anywhere that Tony Chiarappo was the one who told you to use your own lure that night.....
The Senior Angler "
Yup he told me what pitch to throw that night. I told him how some dead eels on Wobbleheads had been working of late and he said "the tube will get them." that's all...but the way he said it,I knew it wasn't a suggestion,it was a directive!....even at 100 miles away he know what is going to get the fish that night!!!!!!:musc:
ProfessorM 07-17-2008, 08:33 PM nice fish there Pete T. Did you smash your rod after you got it.
