View Full Version : Charlie Cinto Speaking at MSBA!
BigFish 07-18-2008, 07:37 AM On July 23rd (Wednesday) state striped bass record holder and all around great guy Charlie Cinto will be on hand at the Mass Striped Bass Association monthly meeting and he will be telling the tale of his fateful June 1967 fishing trip aboard the "June Bug" a trip which landed Charlie his record 73 pound striped bass! This is a rare occasion to hear of Charlie's feat right from the man himself! Charlie will have the mount on hand also for folks to admire! Charlie is a long time MSBA member and I do not think we have ever had him come out and give the membership his first hand telling of his catch so come out for a special evening at MSBA on the 23rd, details can be found on the MSBA website in the top right hand corner at MSBA.net.
Thanks folks!:btu:
Flaptail 07-18-2008, 10:50 AM That's cool but what about plug night?
BigFish 07-18-2008, 12:48 PM  Dunno!
Circlehook 07-18-2008, 01:25 PM I wonder how much a story can change after 40 yrs?
Good thing it was weighed. My brother caught a bass only 2 weeks ago and it has gained 3 lbs since.
Sea Dangles 07-18-2008, 01:29 PM Charlie is tops!!!
Circlehook 07-18-2008, 01:45 PM Can non-members attend??
BigFish 07-18-2008, 02:06 PM Non members are always welcome! Its a great time and maybe after we get you in the back room and brain wash you a little you might even think about joining up!? As far as the story changing......it will be coming from the horses mouth......so its all good! Charlie is a great guy, very personable and he never beats his chest about it but if you ask him he is always willing to talk. He is very reserved! Charlie is no one trick pony either......he is as skilled a fisherman as you will ever meet! Its a pleasure to talk with him when ever I see him!

I would bet you that unlike the case with another member of the 70 pound club, Charlie's story has never wavered one iota. ;)
Charlie's about as real as it gets, and is a barrel of laughs to boot. I fished next to him a couple of times on the Vineyard, and I can't remember when I had so much fun on a slow fish night.
mikrok 07-18-2008, 03:27 PM I wish I could attend, i'd like to join anyways

MikeTLive 07-25-2008, 08:30 AM waited for the hellfire and brimstone to settle down before leaving work. saw it was around 7 so i headed over to the viking in quincy.
turned on the radio and The Game was entering extra innings! I couldnt believe it. I pulled into the lot and sat there for an hour cause there was no way i was gonna leave that game! Once the Sox won it i went in and caught the tail end of business and coffee.
... salt water fishing licenses up and down the coast. crap. theres a topic for another thread or ten!
I only saw a couple folks that I recognize - course it has been almost two years! I guess the game and "real life" may have kept folks at home.
got a message on my phone and had to leave - damn i hate being oncall!
Slipknot 07-25-2008, 12:26 PM :( I missed it too
had an appointment
but I did catch one of his talks about that fish at Gillette stadium one year at the show. Charlie certainly is entertaining, great sense of humor.
JohnR 07-25-2008, 12:44 PM I missed it too. Wanted to go - Charlie is a great guy, truly down to earth!
