Got Stripers 11-09-2002, 07:13 PM Use what you have, take what you get, that's how my morning went. Hooked up with Slip nada for striped bass, but it was early so I put in a favorite freshwater river, 5 bass to 3 lbs, 4 pickeral to 2-1/2 lbs and one very hungry crappie. All on a megabait, orange belly black back, slow retreive couple cranks, let sit on top (cold water means slow), hits were very subtle and not much of a fight even on my lighter saltwater gear. Tomorrow Schoolie Monster and I are headed to CT and I'd bet my life the story will end differently :).

dondkim 11-10-2002, 08:47 AM Fished at Canal all day from 5am till 5:50pm. Stated from Maritime first and Sandwich Town Beach last. Nothing. There were so many people fishing but the wind was treacherous. Perfect day for Mark Sedotti to demonstrate his fly casting skill. Only catch I saw was some mackerels.

I hear ya. All the small bass and blues you could handle. Thanks for the jig and rubber Tom. That made my day :) I thought that would have been the last place to throw a jig but WOW.
I went smeltin' yesterday and got a SKUNK instead.:( :af:

Canalratt1 11-11-2002, 10:33 AM Stopped by the Ditch at daybreak Sunday saw and got 0. Met up with my buddy and we hit one of my shallow bass ponds on the Cape 15+ LM all 2-3 lbers. a few perch and as always some toothy critters all caught on cranks.
Christian 11-11-2002, 11:44 AM fished of the rocks in hull to try for cod, nothing. went to nut island pier in quincy, a nice hit but nothing.
schoolie monster 11-11-2002, 12:04 PM Got out Sunday am with Got Stripers. The morning was beautiful and there were plenty of rats to go around. We caught around 30 bass each and I picked up a couple equally ratty blues.
No shad though. We hoped to get some shad to live-line for big blues and bass.
But the numbers of small bass made for a fun day on light tackle... the weather deteriorated at the end, but we got off the water before the rain caught us.
Its amazing what the nice weather and a few fish does for your mood.
Thanks Bob.
