View Full Version : Canal Bike Rehabbed
Swimmer 07-29-2008, 11:32 AM After leaving the bike I got from Pepsi ten years ago outside for the last couple of years the chain no longer would do what it is supposed to do. That is go around the sprockets. I took it to the Bike Barn in Whitman on route 18 last week for that new chain. I left it outside first and coyly walked in the front door just to ask if it was o.k. to bring it inside. The average price of thier two-wheel machines is about $1500.00. In fact two of the ones they were working on last week when I was there looked like the price was substantially higher than average. Anyway I bring in this canal bike baskets and all on it, and the looks I got was hilarious. The tech who put on the new chain was very pleasant. No wise-as remarks. I decided that since PJ the tech was so nice I would let them make a few other fix ups on it. PJ explained everything to me just as if I was buying one of the new racing machines they sell. They just called and let me know it is ready. Just based on how decent they were at the Bike Barn I would reccomend them to anyone.

To get my wife to pose as did Bronko's wife did I would have to get a whole bottle of Chardonay in her. She looks pretty good for 58.
