I just got some news here at work that will probably allow me to take tomorrow off. So I thought I'd head to south county.

I'm not asking for any honey holes here, but any general advice about where to go would be appreciated. I was at Charlestown Beach on Saturday (fishing rod in one hand, golden retriever attached to other hand), and there were birds and fish all over, but I never saw them come within casting distance. The chunkers had a few fish stacked up behind them, but I couldn't get anything to hit my plugs and jigs.

It looks like the breachways should be flowing out before first light. Would Charlestown or Quonnie breachways be worth a shot?

Anyone else fishing tomorrow?

Another general question, how can you tell when the tides will start to flow out at the breachways? Is it a fixed amount of time after dead high at a local beach?

Charlestown is generally a 3 hour lag. If high tide on the beach is 1 pm it will take 3 hours to reach high tide in the back of the pond. So 4 pm the current will start going out. I'm driving the beach in about 15 minutes and I'll let you know whats happening later tonight. Green Hill to Watch Hill should be good.

Drove the beach from G-Hill to W-Hill. Rough surf and all of the schools were feeding well off shore. Only grabbed 1 bass. Still worth the trip, you never know!
