View Full Version : Black Night/ White Needle
Flaptail 08-06-2008, 10:58 PM Fishing was better tonight than last night. Did 13 ( is that a Baker's dozen?) Several small legals in the mix and this one at 21 lbs. This picture is a good example of why when I catch fish and have thier picture taken w/ me holding it they don't look as big, oh well, the trials of being a pituitary freak.
The gentleman fly fishing near me was doing okay as well and allowed me to rake his picture, didn't catch his name.

How did you lose so much weight and keep it off is what I really want to know. :hihi:

for the same reason my fish often times look more massive than they are...glad to see the fishing on the upswing in your neck of the woods..
kenyee 08-07-2008, 08:20 AM Is that the "white bucket" equivalent for a fly fisherman? :)
Interesting thing strapped to his waist...curious what it's for?

It's for making sure your line shoots to the stripping guide in a tangled mass about every second or third cast.
OLD GOAT 08-07-2008, 08:56 AM That for doing the dishes IF your wife lets you go fishing.
Flaptail 08-07-2008, 10:11 AM Yhea, something looks wrong with the back 1/5. nice fish!
Perfect tooth impression of a seal, small round punctures. Looked infected too, the whole section was in distress and discolored.
Flaptail 08-07-2008, 10:12 AM yeah, I thought he's a plugman :rotflmao:
Nope, it's a Needlefish. And jigs count as lures as well and I do use them often in the canal and a few other places while surfcasting.

BatesBCheatin 08-07-2008, 03:23 PM If that fish had it's genetics in order it would have bee 30 lbs. Nice job.

BigFish 08-08-2008, 06:05 AM Your a fibber Flaptail!:bl: You don't look taller than 6'4" either....you freak!
Flaptail 08-08-2008, 06:05 AM Fished same area with Slipknot and ESL last night, current was noticeably slower and did not fall as much ( the new moon influence was gone) one small legal and a couple little ones was all we could do.
Time for new location.
BillM 08-08-2008, 08:28 AM Nice catch Flap! I have yet to catch on a needle. Was it in the white water? slow retrieve?
