bassballer 08-07-2008, 02:11 PM Hey guys, ill be staying at the fishing club the 5th and 6th and its my first time fishing the island. Im looking for some advise from you cutty veterans out there for a laundry list to head out there with. I have my wetsuit, 2 set ups, eels, plugs, extra line, red bulls, cigaretts, some food, ect. What are some of the thing you guys didnt bring the first time that you learned your lesson. Just want to have a good experience and dont want to be undergunned.
Thanks
jason
The Dad Fisherman 08-07-2008, 02:16 PM you look pretty well covered....maybe a water bottle.
good2hook 08-07-2008, 02:23 PM redlite
JFigliuolo 08-07-2008, 02:31 PM Beer... seriously.
Just a couple after fishing all night. It helps you wind down so you can sleep odd hours and start again once the sun goes down.
bassballer 08-07-2008, 02:50 PM beers are must. good call.
The Dad Fisherman 08-07-2008, 02:54 PM You wouldn't catch me drinking at Cutty.....
Maybe some good lighting,flashlight/headlight.
fishbones 08-07-2008, 03:12 PM Bring a small first aid kit and some Aleve or Advil. You want to be prepared since you'll be heading back to the club during the wee hours and not your own house. And bring 2 pairs of pliers just in case. I learned this the hard way.
bassballer 08-07-2008, 03:14 PM thanks fishbones. good advice. I def would not have brought any sort of first aid.
BMEUPSCOTTY 08-07-2008, 03:27 PM korkers?

I never drink before fishing. Just 1-2 to wind down and get to sleep quicker.
Pete F. 08-07-2008, 07:39 PM I never drink before fishing. Just 1-2 to wind down and get to sleep quicker.

Packing light isnt an issue. I always fish light. I fish in a wetsuit, plugbag/pliers, rod/reel. Thats the extent of it.
Thanks for the advice guys. Should be productive around that time. Any of you guys gonna be there that weekeend?
fishbones 08-08-2008, 08:40 AM One more important piece of equipment. Make sure you bring a camera so you can post some pics of the cows you catch.

RickBomba 08-08-2008, 10:46 AM There's a reason that Kenin doesn't drink at Cutty, and that reason is because somebody has drank all his Captain.
The last time we were there, I saw my brother drinking a gatorade and I said "Hey Mikey, you never drink gatorade?"
To which he replied, "Why it's my new cocktail made with TDF's Captain Morgan and gatorade."
I said "What do you call this monstrosity?"
He said "I call it Captain Gay.":cens:
The Dad Fisherman 08-08-2008, 11:06 AM That's why I brought the 1.75 last time..... :hee: :gu:
Nothing better after a night of fishing than a couple of cocktails on the back deck

Just getting after it hard, and hopefully logging some big bass. If that doesnt happen at least we'll have some good times.
