Wife (Starfish) and I took a trip up to The Forks Maine last weekend for our 4th anniversary. We stayed one night in the West Forks at my friend's house. What a place he has over looking a valley with views to Moosehead. My friend and his wife took us out on the quads at dusk to look for moose. We did some white water rafting on the Kennebec Sunday, which my wife was petrified to try. She had a blast as did I. Sunday night we stayed at Long Pond Camps in Jackman and did some fishing. We caught some fish but no Salmon or Trout. Had a great time just being on the lake with my wife though. Also took a hike to Moxie Falls on Sun. We are hoping to buy some land up there in the future. I have on the Blue hat in the raft.

Did you notice the groomers in the backyard pic? We rode mostly snowmobile trails on the quads. Whole different ball game in the summer up there. Almost as fun.

Liar, Liar pants on Fire!!

They've had aLOT of water up there this summer. Most of my favorite trout streams that are under water management have been totally unfishable the entire year.

Where are the kids!

The guides on the river say that most streams are running at April/May levels. The grandparents love their grandkids. :kewl:

The Andro at Errol is 7700 the mean is 1670. I'll go back up in Sept.
Amazing, FPL has been blowing out water all year.
We have time to learn weaved bodies, those are nice looking bugs

The Kennebec was over 5500 cfs when we went but that is Hydro Control. I had one smallie and had a decent brookie attacking my mouse fly but couldn't hold onto it long enough for me to get a good hookset. We didn't get to much time on the water as we were forced off twice by T-Storms and strong winds. We trolled intermediate line for awhile with streamers but only had some big perch. Bugs were all over but small on the big river.

My sister made the move to ME a few years ago. I gotta admit it would be tough for me to leave the coast but I really love the wilderness. I used to go up to Baxter and ride the Penobscot with my college buddies for years. I really miss those times. Thanks for the pics and bringing back some good memories.:thanks:
