Anyone seeing any peanut bunker? They usually start to show in large bait balls of very small fry in early August. They can signal the start of a very good bite if they stay close to the beach.

Spent most of the last week in Chicago – saw 3 of 4 red sox/white sox games. LOTS of Red Sox fans in Chicago – perhaps 75 % of the upper deck. Good baseball, great weather, and better pizza. Great city to visit – highly recommended.

Nothing yet up where I have been fishing Dennis, still relying on the whitebait supply along shore and macks in the canal to draw fish.

A few squid also.

Plenty to the East of us DZ but none here in our home territory that I've seen. Hasn't hurt the fishing though...

Haven't seen any yet, but they mark the unofficial beginning of fall in my mind. That said, I've never been too excited when the peanuts show as its always been a small fish bite for the most part. For many its a challenge to dupe a fish under a peanut school and a blast to see the fish in pursuit of them. Should see them in the canal any day now.

none that I've seen up north yet (but I haven't been out this week yet) Chicago is a great town, my brother lives there and I should go see him again soon!
