View Full Version : Trilene Big Game 1 pound spool
StarsnStripers 11-13-2002, 03:46 PM I have heard I will save money buying the 1 pound spool. So I'm gonna go with one, but tell me, which color, overall, is best??
Ultraclear, Green, or Solar collector??
Also, Am I going to need 2 different pound tests, for I will be using 15 for my Penn Spinfisher 5500SS and Daiwa Sealine X lure fishing combo, but will I need more pound test for my 7' Ugly Stik tiger with Shimano Baitrunner 6500B?? I will be throwing live and dead baits everywhere with the baitrunner, regagrdless of amount of rocks/underwater structure, should I make it a bit heavier??

Bill L 11-13-2002, 07:57 PM 15# & 20# if you go with mono
I like the Green
TheSpecialist 11-13-2002, 11:01 PM An interesting point that was brought up on a different board. If you are using braid on reels meant for up to 15 or 20lb mono, be careful how you set the drag with the heavier braids. Some guys complaining about drags wearing out prematurely are using 50lb, and 65lb braid on reels designed to handle no more than 20lb test mono, and their drags are crapping out. I am sure that other problems could happen as well.
Vic go with 17lb test it will cast better, and you canget a spare spoool for your Baitrunner for about 25 bucks, and spool it heavier or lighter.
