there was a recent post about the yoyo technique, in which rigging options were discussed. while i'm not a boat fisherman any longer, i have yoyo'd before and here's a simple technique i devised that will allow you to keep your weight, saving money and fish. now i didn't read every reply on the last yoyo post, so if you already mentioned this technique, congrats to you.
start by snelling your hook (use flouro) and leaving a long tag end (about 10 inches or so). on said tag end, tie a large snap clip (one that will accommodate the loop of your sinker). this will allow you to change weights if necessary. snap the desired sinker on and insert into the mouth. then use BIODEGRADABLE HOG RINGS to close the mouth. hook your pogie in an area of the back that will balance the bait evenly, making sure to leave your hook well enough exposed to avoid missed hookups.
now you can keep and reuse your rigs and weights. you'll save cash and you wont be stuffing missed fish with poison metal. good luck.
