View Full Version : Water Proof Lights? BigFish 09-02-2008, 07:44 PM Do any of you experienced wet suiters recommend any water proof lights??? angler229 09-02-2008, 08:19 PM The best thing I've found is small dive light. Other than that I just wear a normal headlight since your head should be out of water most of the time. BigBo 09-02-2008, 08:36 PM Larry. Look at Pelican lights. :btu: woodghost 09-02-2008, 08:44 PM Princeton tech makes a water proof light. mine is a 3 led with a flashing type strobe ( which is good to signal friends with) i swim with mine almost every night and it works great. flyvice11787 09-02-2008, 10:17 PM Check out some of the sites that sell dive gear, and read the reviews for the different lights. Pelican and Princeton Tec both make pretty good models that will not set you back too much. RIROCKHOUND 09-03-2008, 05:51 AM Pelican. I've had a bunch. Usually get a few seasons out of them, and they are pretty cheap. their cust. service is great as well. Clogston29 09-03-2008, 06:41 AM uk vision head lamp small princeton tech flashlight as backup emgred 09-03-2008, 09:54 AM Princeton Tec - Great warranty, great products. Eos as head (neck) light, Attitude as backup http://www.princetontec.com/index.php Tman1 09-03-2008, 10:33 AM Another vote for Princeton Tec- Awesome dive lights at a decent price. hyefisherman2 09-04-2008, 06:01 PM yeah princeton tec gets my vote...light, durable, and waterproof. Jimmy Fee 09-05-2008, 06:07 PM Princeton Tec's do the job, but I've been looking for a better one lately. My light just burnt out the other night after 3 years. It didn't owe me anything. I'll have to check out these Pelican lights. NIB 09-05-2008, 08:55 PM http://www.princetontec.com/products/index.php?id=21&type=0&use=1 I have this one with a dive mouth pc zipped on.makes it nice to hold in your mouth. I hang it on zipped on surg tubing. If your gonna swim keep it short so it don't smash ya in the mouth.. Crafty Angler 09-06-2008, 06:06 AM Larry, another vote for PT here :btu: Although I don't wetsuit it I swear by the Princeton Tec 40's, and carry two - great lights. The 40's are like $20 or so and worth every penny. I even rigged one on my mountain bike to use for my headlight at night, 4 AA's last a reasonable amount of time given the amount of light they put out when needed. basswipe 09-06-2008, 02:02 PM PT here too. Saltheart 09-08-2008, 02:55 PM Petzl makes great lights. Some are specifically made for diving or combinations of spelunking and diving. Some Petzl models are not for diving etc so be careful which one you choose. I havethe samllest of the spelunking lights. Its a great light. Totally waterproof when submerged. The batteries last a whole season. Its more expensive upfront but it will last a decade or more. I got mine at EMS. I don't know if they are still in business as the one near me closed but somebody must still be selling Petzls in this ara. I paid about 79 dollars for mine in 1997. Not cheap but I still have it and it still works great. JeffH 09-08-2008, 03:01 PM Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 eLED Plus or Mini Q40 Xenon. Very powerful which is what I would want when I'm far from shore. eastendlu 09-08-2008, 04:26 PM Another vote for Petzl . Adam_777 09-08-2008, 05:32 PM I have a UK headlight. Not sure if it's waterproof but it has a red setting for night vision and the white light is more than enough for the walk down.I got it at REI.The Petzl lights get good reviews but they only had a redlight lense one when I was in the shop.Swapping a lense to me means another thing to lose. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
