Hey guys,

I really want to start doing more boat fishing next season. I bought my Sea Eagle 14' inflatable boat with 6HP engine(i know, it needs a bigger engine) last year in July.

We took it out a few times this season, but I never got to seriously fish it, except for the MONSTER whatever-it-was that hooked on and peeled lots of drag from me but unhooked itself:cool: .

I just bought a Penn International 975. I took into consideration everthing that you guys said, but I have made a decision that I would use my Spinfisher 5500SS for all my surf-work, and this from off my boat, especially because we are going to make a few sleep over trips to Block Island in my dad's 24' Rinker, and I would like to try to find some big stripers and maybe some SCHOOL bluefin (im thinking up to 10 pounds, the International says it can handle it, but whats the largest tuna 20 pound line can handle, If I set the drag good?)

Anyway, I just wanted to know if any of you knew of some good boat fishin' spots for stripers that I could start out with in April or May. I am not asking you to share your "Honey holes" just some good general striper/blue places up near Greenwich Bay/Newport/Bristol.

   :D

By the way, thats the Penn International 975, with the star drag, not the 975LD with the lever drag,
Mike P ( I think ) said that the lever drag had some problems, I looked it up and someone else said the same, so I went with the star drag model, which I was told I was better off with.

Dude...if you didn't ask a new question every four minutes, maybe people would help you out.

ooo, geese, I haven't asked a question in 2 days before that, I just noticed like 4 people replying to it on "whos online" and then they never really replied....
And, I need to ask all these questions, where else do I get the information? I am told to search the forum, and I do. I am told to read books, and I bought those books and read them. But the information I get here is far more useful, atleast IMO.
I guess I can't help asking all these questions.....I hate buying things to find out I bought the wrong size/type or watever of the equipment...sorry
