Slingah 09-07-2008, 10:33 AM Just returned from a 2 week tour of England, Scotland and Normandy France...we had a very busy trip and drove 2000+ miles...I thought I'd share a few photos and the places we saw...weather was great and it was a trip of a lifetime...Im beat, but ready to fish!!

Slingah 09-07-2008, 11:34 AM then to London...I saw alot in London...not many pix though...all the big tourist sites ( Picadilly, Big Ben, Houses of Parliment, Bukingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, London Bridge) and a few museums ( the Tate Museum of Modern Art, V&A, and Museum of Natural History)

Personally, I think the French living in Normandy are the nicest, and most hospitable people in France, especially to Americans. That area is beautiful and daunting and very humbling. I was fortunate to visit there several times in the 80s.

very cool city Dad....it was mobbed with tourists..kind wierd being in those cities with big designer stores plopped in the middle of such historic places

the people were great JR...I feel blessed to have seen the area...I've started reading Stephen Ambrose's Citizen Soldiers..then will read them all....best part of the trip...

take a good look in one of the pix from the Highlands....my bro is taking a leak in the far right :hee:

THose are sand eel nets.

there were lots of people heading to the water at the same time...fishermen and regular folks......I figured small prawns or something they could eat? do the french eat sandeels?? they probaly do..
