East Tide 09-11-2008, 11:25 AM Can't get stuff that big here in Missouri... I want to get my stuff together for my 9/28-10/6 full Canal assault...
I have searched high and low and can't find these anywhere. Help would be great!
Thanks,
Dave

kenyee 09-11-2008, 11:53 AM Yep, it's easier/cheaper to just stop by a local bait shop...jigheads are heavy...
East Tide 09-11-2008, 12:15 PM kenyee- the gas to shop at a "local" bait shop would cost me about $400...
thanks for the advice though :hee:
Mike P 09-11-2008, 12:29 PM If you find out, Dave--let me know. SOL isn't carrying them any more---I even asked Tim if he'd do a special order because I have 2 guys here who'd be willing to commit to 6 dozen apiece ( 2 dozen each size in 3, 4 and 5), minimum. Tim never responded :(
kenyee 09-11-2008, 12:34 PM EastTide: sorry...I meant local to the canal. There are quite a few...M&D's, Redtop, Cape Cod Charlie's, etc. They have these jigheads for 75c to $1 each IIRC. I have a bunch I haven't used yet so I haven't bought any lately...
go4broke44 09-11-2008, 12:39 PM NJ tackle used to have them, apparently they don' have any jig heads in any size now....? all the jighead pages are empty!
Mike P 09-11-2008, 12:40 PM The Canal shops have the cylinder shaped heads. Dave and my gang are looking for round ball heads.
Rip Runner 09-11-2008, 12:48 PM I bought I bunch on EBAY

I'm in Mike's shop all the time--Mike has the cylinder shaped jigheads. I use them, but what I'm really looking for are ROUND BALL HEAD jigheads. How many times do I have to say it :wall:
I have reasons for wanting round.

Ahhh. I haven't seen those in local canal shops either. The only place I've seen them is on SOL. I also only have the cylinder ones. The round ones really work that much better?

Sorry to say but I needed to have a price increase for all lead jigs across the board. Lead jigs isn't our number one seller so I never kept a close eye on the steady increase in lead prices. Well....apparently a few manufacturers thought our prices were so good they decided to buy from us in bulk and paint themselves vs. casting themselves. Low prices and a flat $6.99 shipping charge per order made it very cost effective for them. Good for them....$ loss for me but I still delivered the order.
Prices will be slightly higher but still very competitive. Give me another day or so and they'll all be back online.
Thanks
CanalGuy 09-11-2008, 04:31 PM They sell them at the two local #^&#^&#^&#^&'s Sporting good Stores in Worcester. Try looking for them on their website. I'm pretty sure they only sell them as bucktails but you can change them if you want. Might end up being pricey!
