hey guys
I am new to salt water fishing and I was wondering if anybody knows a spot to land fish in the Cape preferably the lower part for this weekend but anywhere is fine and what would be the best bait to use or jigs? thanks

Striper Hunter, couple things. It is sometimes considered bad form here to ask where to fish or to openly discuss where the fish are but I do have a couple suggestions for you.
1) Local tackle shops really are the best place to get info when just starting out as well as a good source of info - that gets better when you develop a rapport with the shop.
2) Get the On The Water Guide to Shore Fishing Cape Cod. It's a couple years old but a good resource to dig stuff up and covers good pertinent info on a lot of standard locations on the Cape.
3) IIRC I haven't fished past Barnstable this year so I have no direct info to give you. I can't even say where the Mung is  , but being that you are somewhat new, I would suggest you fish from Dark past Sunrise - be there BEFORE the first, first, first glimpse of light ~ IMO that's the best time for sunrise fishing.
4) Jigs, really more Tins are good but I would also switch over to poppers / Pencil Poppers, Spooks, Storms, Redfins, Bombers for that dark through AM blitz. Use a teaser on the more subtle plugs.
5) Access, seeing that area is mostly sand and you are mostly walking, I would suggest, Mung permitting, Nauset through Truro where you can park close to the beach and then walk the beach (yes, Fish Happens on the bayside too). Best to scout the area during the day AND TAKE NOTES ;) . I can't tell you how many times I've checked out something during the day, took the mental snapshot, was confident I'd remember, go back at night and simply loose my bearings.
6) Be courteous, no Coleman lanterns or being loud or leaving ANY trash.
7) Use the "Search" feature. Plenty of things to look through, but in particular, look for some of the articles on how to fish a beach...
Good luck.
