View Full Version : No Country For Old Men
Hooper 09-20-2008, 06:52 AM Holy Crap!
I watched this last night for the first time, though it is a year old, it was on Starz. The last time a movie made me this wound up watching it was Fargo!
I had nightmares that some terminator-like crazy nut was after me!:jump1:
Anyone see it? What did you think?
Rmarsh 09-20-2008, 07:58 AM lots of violent murder scenes, really bad ending, pointless
Swimmer 09-20-2008, 08:29 AM Part two is on the way...................my wife and I watched it also. Whack out, but well-acted.
Hooper 09-20-2008, 10:08 AM Does everyone think the ending sucked? Think he greased the wife? I have to watch it again to catch things I missed....I liked Woody Harrelson's character, the poor bastard.
ProfessorM 09-20-2008, 10:59 AM Sick flick, but i kind of liked it. Does that make me a bad person?
Hooper 09-20-2008, 11:02 AM I don't think so Prof M, it should turn the stomach of any decent person, but I am fascinated by the story behind the story. What was really going on and by whom. I am going to have to re-watch it again with some new info I read online today.
johnny ducketts 09-20-2008, 01:11 PM that bolt gun was awesome
ProfessorM 09-20-2008, 03:10 PM not if you are livestock
basswipe 09-20-2008, 03:26 PM Thought it was one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen.Ranks right up there with Shamalamadingdong's "The Village" and Speilberg's "AI."
The Dad Fisherman 09-20-2008, 04:03 PM I thought it was a great flick...the ending did seem a little "Anti-climactic" though...Their new Flik looks interesting "Burn After Reading"
And if you want to see a flick that will distub the chit out of you check out Blue Velvet....one of THE most twisted Villains ever.
and besides best film that has the worst ending.......The Matrix. Was on its way to being one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever.....Until she saves the Day by saying "I Love You" WTF....:wall:
Backbeach Jake 09-20-2008, 05:35 PM Tommy Lee quit. Harellson stank the place out I can't believe that that movie won an Academy Award. For my money it sucked and I loved Pulp Fiction.
ProfessorM 09-20-2008, 08:08 PM Blue Velvet now that is a blast form the past. still can't believe Hope Lange would do a sick movie like that. "Mommy, Mommy" LOL very sick movie
The Dad Fisherman 09-20-2008, 11:15 PM Pabst Effing BLUE RIBBON.......
ProfessorM 09-21-2008, 01:40 PM F Heniken, PBR. Don't you look at me!!!
likwid 09-21-2008, 05:35 PM absolutely a most pissah movie, very well done for that genre of movie.. there are movie forum boards that have flame wars over the ending tho.. :hihi:
Javier Bardem played the villian to perfection.. Tommy Lee Jones, always good, as was Josh Brolin...
it has been on several times this month on the different movie channels.. if anybody has not seen, keep an eye out for it!! :kewl:
Agreed.
Friendo.
ProfessorM 09-21-2008, 07:57 PM Thanks Karl.:uhuh: I forgot about the guy singing into the drop light. Very strange flick
EarnedStripes44 09-22-2008, 01:20 PM the shotgun silencer....
justplugit 09-22-2008, 02:07 PM Sick flick, but i kind of liked it. Does that make me a bad person?
No P., but your shirtless avatar comes close. :rotf2: :wavey:
loved No Country. i thought the ending was brilliant. went together with the whole movie. i love the whole chance vs. fate theme. Tommy Lee said throughout the movie, "You can't stop what's coming" and that he cpuldn't understand "that type of evil". I think it portrayed society well; evil doesn't make sense and there seems to be more evil out there than ever before...
ProfessorM 09-23-2008, 09:03 AM No P., but your shirtless avatar comes close. :rotf2: :wavey:
LOL. Frank definitely wasn't a gym rat. Had a classic musicians physique. The Iggy Pop look
Slingah 09-27-2008, 08:21 PM ...Their new Flik looks interesting "Burn After Reading"
