im in the middle of my first experience of envirotex. i made a jig with a slow speed motor to spin the lure and i mixed and put on some of the envirotex. its now turning at about 30rpm. how long does it take this stuff to dry? the box doesnt really tell ya. is turning the plug neccessary while envirotex is hardening?

Bernzy

The envirotex is a slow cure epoxy, 6-7 hours to touch.
I havn't done any jigs, but I rotate my plugs for 4 hrs minimum. If you dont rotate, the epoxy will sag.

You might want to try DEVCON 30 minute epoxy for your jigs. It will make things a whole lot easier.

woops, what i meant by jig was a set up or holder thingy to just spin my plug. how do you rotate yours? thanks for info:D

The nerdles are birch dowel. The pikies western red cedar. The "alien" thing is Jersey white cedar. I haven't tried AYC yet, but I hear it's great. :smokin:

I used a slow speed motor that was lying around but if you have a rotissery motor it would do the job just fine.

Christian

im all set with a motor. i also use a slow speed motor now that my dad got from his work a while ago. the box connected to it with a speed dial gets hot so i hooked up a computer fan to blow air over it constantly. im looking for something to dry more than one plug at a time. i saw tacklemaking post one a while ago but i have an idea of connecting another slow speed motor i have to a wheel type thing that could hold maybe four at a time. whats the thing made of pvc in the background? if that thing spins that is the exact design my father and i came up with ecept we would use 2 wooden discs at each end and hooks to hold the lure while it spins. sort of hard to explain but i think thats exactly what you have ill think about pvc.ahhhhhhhh, i just saw your edited post, exactly what i though.:D
