yes

It will cut down on criminal records for kids busted with a joint. Cut down on police and coury costs to prosecute people that have a bag of weed.

For me
yes
yes
no - as long as I can hook fish why should I care if people can race dogs?

so we approve the use of illegal drugs by making it less of a penalty

Legalize it.

Decriminalizing pot is way overdue. Make it a ticket and fine and let the cops spend more time on important crimes.

As for the dogs, let them race. I live a few miles from the Raynham track and go there a few times a year. Not so much for the races, but the food at the restaurant there is good and very reasonably priced. And, making racing illegal would put a lot of people out of work. Not to mention the dogs. Anyone know how hard it is for a dog to find a job in todays economy? There aren't a lot of jobs out there for our canine friends.

Haven't looked at any of the animal rights sites recently but their "game plan" used to be to go after the issues like dog racing, trapping, etc. that may strike a chord with the general public and probably don't have the strong participant support to defend a challenge from well funded national AR groups. Don't support it if you like to fish and hunt...you're their next target.

Re: the pot question...my best hunting friend lost his FID card because of a pot charge when he was 17.... a few presidents and 1/2 of congress get a pass...common guys get screwed. Decriminalize.....I think....what were we talking about?

yes, maybe, no

Fishbone: Head meet Nail, Nail meet Head.

This is exactly right, banning dog racing will be the "Gateway Drug" to going after Fishing & Hunting, they will have a foot in the door...

I also think we should make DUI a lesser crime, after all it is just another mind altering substance.

Sure as long as you do it in the privacy of your own home...

I'm pretty sure the law doesn't make it legal to drive stoned.

Thats responsible for thousands of innocent deaths a year. please tell me who has died from less that 1 ounce of pot? TO me its not a pot legalization issue, its more of a legal priority issue.
For example, if you speed on the highway, you get a ticket, yet speeding takes a lot of lives each year. You cant arrest speeders becasue ti would clog up the system. I think possesion of pot under 1oz is a minor crime and should have a minor penalty.

Here's what voting yes on #1 is going to result in:

Wholesale property re-assessments after Prop. 2-1/2 overrides are voted down. The town can't get an override, and it needs the revenue to offset the lost state aid? Mr. Assessor makes his rounds, and they collect at the new assessment while you try to appeal it or fight it some other way. "Oh you have a new garage. You have a new shed. You paved your driveway. You cut down a tree, and now I can see a speck of water so it's water view. New cement steps. A new deck. Vinyl siding."

The further death of an already dying real estate market.

More forecolsures when people can't afford the jump in their mortgage due to higher property taxes/re-assessments. More pressure on a financial system that's on the brink of collapse right today.

Sales tax doubling to 10%. Which will do wonders to spur already dying sales of new motor vehicles and boats.

200% or more increases in every fee you currently pay--licenses, car registrations, inspections, you name it.

Major excise tax increases for vehicles and boats.

Wholesale layoffs of state employees, in what are deemed "non-essential" services. Not all of them are banging in sick to run fishing charters.

Oh, you think that government is going to tighten its belt and stop waste and perks? ROTFLMAO--this is MASSACHUSETTS. The hackarama sees your tax dollars as their entitlement. Thinking that they're going to tighten their own belts is like thinking that a wino won't drink Sterno of you shut down packies and bars :rollem:

Be careful what you wish for--you might get it.

Oh--and on #2? Nobody--and I mean NOBODY--ever does time in this state on a first offense marijuana possession. You're presumptively entitled to a continuance without a finding. No one ever goes to jail even for a first offense for possession with intent to distribute, or actual distribution. You need to have enough grass to be charged with trafficking--something like 100 lbs--before jail time is mandatory.

However getting speeding ticket does have a major impact to the recipient. Hopefully, corrected bad behavior.

Illegal or legal drugs in conjunction with heavy equipment both should carry significant penalties.

And it still should be more than a ticket to have illegal substances in your possession.

We're not talking about cocain or heroin or speed or meth.
We're talking about pot.

People can die from drinking too much alcohol.
People pass out watching cartoons on pot.
