All you mariners better get the hell out of there.. Man, NIB, I can't wait to get Pt Jude Joe out on the rocks again for more Pt Jude ad photos...:hihi: Actually, it's gonna be a beaut - I think we can expect an overhead swell here :eek5: This was from the last storm we had come through here a coupla weeks ago - it's gonna be way bigger than this was. Fortunately the goofy old bugger has a wedding to go to on Saturday at the peak of the predicted gale and that will keep him off the rocks for a while. I'm tellin' ya, damned kids today....you can tell 'em anything but you can't tell 'em much...:smokin: NIB 09-25-2008, 09:04 AM Nice pics I like how you can't see the teatherd line wraped around his waist.. I have the same jacket.I have not worn it yet it interferes with my beard..It looks like Joe is bullet proof in his..:jester: NIB 09-25-2008, 09:06 AM I just watched the weatherman give the report while standing on the beach in NC.. kinda had the same look on his face that Joe did.. striperman36 09-25-2008, 09:09 AM It has to pass by you dudes in NJ first!!! DENNIS STANK 09-25-2008, 10:59 AM yeah hope it brings some fish with it.been slow except for BIG bluefish. Crafty Angler 09-25-2008, 11:06 AM Hey NIB - the place where Joe is fishing - that's the same place where the bass stand in my avatar was. If you go to the other pictures in my Album, you'll see the remnants of the iron pipes that supported that stand in the foreground of some of the shots :) Hey, Joe kinda looks like one of those old-timers, don't he :rotflmao: Raven 09-25-2008, 12:04 PM i am replacing glass sliders today well in advance of this storm Mike P 09-25-2008, 12:06 PM I thought they were gonna hit seperately- Regardless, is this the weather event that is gonna kick-off the fall run? :kewl: The fall run's been kicked off in the Canal for almost two weeks now. You're late to the party up your way. Slipknot 09-25-2008, 04:55 PM oh good I plan on taking my 11' skiff out for some fishing :kewl: gonna catch me a cow:fishin: or a supercow tom1276 09-25-2008, 05:38 PM It was just drizzling here. Then it stopped. I guess it's here and staying for a couple of days. Those fishies are deep now. probably won't get any until Sunday. If we're lucky. jmonte45 09-25-2008, 05:45 PM The fall run's been kicked off in the Canal for almost two weeks now. You're late to the party up your way. It sure has! spinncognito 09-26-2008, 07:48 AM The fall run's been kicked off in the Canal for almost two weeks now. You're late to the party up your way. Cool- can I get a pole# from you Mike? :uhuh: Seriously, I have not seen the typical feeds/blitzes in any of my usual haunts. There is some bait in and around the area but the only bigger fish I see are being taken by the local sharpies at first light- not a fall pattern. Ask any of the North Shore guys what type of year we have experienced and you will (in most cases) get the same answer. :fury: JohnR 09-26-2008, 07:49 AM "She's coming on strong" RIROCKHOUND 09-26-2008, 08:00 AM Looks like they are going to diverge. Still a 1-2 punch though. Depending on the amount of surge, given the wave height and duration of the storm(s), Dont expect to drive the whole trail along the south shore for a few days.... Probably have a few areas washed out... Clogston29 09-26-2008, 08:13 AM Cool- can I get a pole# from you Mike? :uhuh: Seriously, I have not seen the typical feeds/blitzes in any of my usual haunts. Ask any of the North Shore guys what type of year we have experienced and you will (in most cases) get the same answer. :fury: i wouldn't expect a big fall run on the north shore this year. take a look at all the reports from north of us, not as many fish as usual came north this year. there are lots of quality fish around now, as there have been for about 1.5 months, but they are resident fish (for lack of a better term) and have to be targeted as such. this storm may kick off a run, but it will be south of us IMO. this is obviously just my opinion, and i hope i'm wrong. RIfoosball 09-26-2008, 08:20 AM I heard that fishing in this type of weather was a good thing. Is that true? If so, how do the feeding habits of the fish change? Thanks. Bruce. Zeno 09-26-2008, 02:27 PM if you can get out at the onset of a storm.....it can be great I heard and seen of more surf caught big fish in last 7 days than I did during a whole year and then some Raider Ronnie 09-26-2008, 06:56 PM Perfect storm 2 :jester: What was perfect was I was the only boat on Boston Harbor (other than the coast guard 47 fter that was watching us like we had a few screws loose) :laugha: Fishingfreak and I said screw the weather, I've got the boat that can handle this weather ! ;) Got bait and headed outside the harbor. I lost count of how many 20+ lb bass we released, and kept some 30+ lb bass, largest went a bit over 35lbs measuring barely 44 inches ! You missed it last night, Bry - BIG thunder on the point with some of the sets that came through :eek5: With the duration between waves you had exactly ten seconds (one mississippi...two mississippi) to get your arse outta dodge to the high perch after you see the whitewater explode. Exhilirating in an odd way - that is, as long as you don't miscount. Boy, the Tail looked impressive from where I stood - yowza! And it's gonna be bigger tomorrow. Oh, BTW, I made up my own MOB throw-bag for this event and hung it off my shoulder bag just in case - and sure enough, that goofy old Pt Judy bugger was out today on the Point when I got there :hs: That place was all 4-6' square waves by the time I left at 3:30 - with 3 more hours of tide and swell to go :smokin: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
