So the GOP has worked hard to paint Obama as a non-American by saying he "palls" around with terrorists, emphasising his Islamic roots and attacking his patriotism.

Now the people have responded, with calls of "kill him", "terrorist" and my favorite, who just the other day leaned into McCain and stated in no uncertian terms that she didn't trust Obama because he was an "A-Rab" :alien:

Now McCain is being forced to personally defend Obama's character while at the same time his campaign is still working to tear it apart.

I can't think of a worse position to be in less than a month before an election.

Yes, funny how the whacked out Freeper Free Republic Uber Right gets brought up in the media saying something absolutely stupid, which gets properly addressed by McCain (though I don't know if "Honorable" is what I would have used - that gets tossed around too freely these days), and the sound bite is still turned anti-McCain, not even McCain neutral.

Yes, I watch CNN. Wonder when they hire the American reporters back...

The sound bite is a product of the McCain campaign, the press didn't turn anything around. You make the bed in which you sleep...

How dare anyone bring up Obamas past! despicable!
If journalists DID THERE JOBs, all of this would have been reported ages ago. I have no problem with the dirt being thrown at Palin, its whats supposed to happen. Just never saw the dirt thrown at Obama? So McCain has had to bring it up. I can believe they havent thrown out the Wright connection.
I would just do a commercial with clips of Wrights Comments, and then shown a picture of Obama with his arm around him and put up the words " 20 yrs Senator Obama attended the Trinity church.......20 years.
Thats all that needs to be said. No spin there, just the truth.

Lets see, theres
1. Wright
2. Retzko
3. Ayers

and now this ACORN -
Given ACORN’s recent efforts to engage in voter fraud and to disrupt our political system, Obama’s affiliation with this group raises serious questions about his judgment and ability to lead this nation,” Sen. John McCain's campaign wrote in a memo Friday.

During the Democratic primaries, Obama was endorsed by ACORN’s political action committee. And in the early 1990s, according to the McCain campaign, Obama was involved in teaching community organizing classes for the organization.

Obama’s campaign has also shelled out about $800,000 to an ACORN subsidiary, Citizens Services Inc., to help with voter registration efforts. Although ACORN says it is nonpartisan, its registration efforts tend to be focused among groups friendly to Democratic candidates.

If you were in a court case and all this evidence was presented, you wouldnt have a doubt on Obama's credibility and judgement?
As far as I am concerned all this is fair game as is anything with McCain and Palin

RIJimmy - I'd be happy with some balanced journalism but it isn't happening. If your in the Obama camp I suppose it is all righteous campaigning and the media coverage is proper. I usually watch CNN and MSNBC and it has been such an Obama LOVE FEST by the media it is repulsing. Not because it is pro-Obama (though that is part), but because it is not an HONEST broker of the news. Very disappointing.

Spence - yeh, okay. There is no spin, and it is all McCains fault. Convince yourself this is the truth and you will be. (wonder is this is how NebeN felt?? :bl: )

The difference between Obama and most every democrat that has lost a modern election (Carter, Dukakis, Mondale and Kerry) is that instead of letting the opposition define them with negative association, the Obama campaign defined itself early on with a clear, succint (and in Obama's case) vague message.
You could trot out most anything now and Obama would cycle back to his message and diffuse it. I'm not saying he can't be beat, I'm saying he can't be beat by the old-politics method of negative association.

First off, this was a thread about the McCain campaign.

Second, the Obama issues were reported on day and night during the primary by even...good lord...MSNBC :scream:

It would seem as though the general population doesn't really care about them any more. Some might call this "liberal bias" but I'd argue that the networks, being businesses, are just focused on the stories people actually want to hear about.

How do you know nobody you know is a poacher? Maybe they were poacher in the past? Maybe they do it and you just don't see it.
You still need to answer for them.

BREAKING NEWS

Source: MSNBC.COM

Frustrated striped bass fisherman RIJIMMY (a.k.a RIJIMMY) was last seen "palling" around with poachers on a website called striped-bass.com.

When we asked an anonymous source about this, they commented they knew of several known poachers who have or had frequented the website, and that RIJIMMY seemed to be unrepentent in asserting that his character was untarnished.

"I'd never BE friends with a poacher. And that reflects on my character, the choices I make."

We spoke with an internet forum expert about the matter, who remarked...

"why would you chat incessently with people online if they weren't to some degree your friends?"

MSNBC's research of the website for this article, also turned up many distrubing references to a clam's asscrack, a followup report on the downlow mollusk scene in NE is pending.

Man, this could get ugly.

How can you guys blame McCain or Palin for this. What about the knucklheads that show up at the RNC or the Obama rallies. Burning flags, calling Bush "Hitler" or saying 9/11 was perpetraited by the U.S.
The hypocracy from you guys borders on insanity.n Some of the stuff you say is a direct result of the Dems brain washing. Blaming Bush for everything for starters.

Crimethinc etc. actually base their protests on real events, you know, gitmo, invading countries out of stupidity, how freaking dumb our current president is.

9/11 comment is a nice try but def on the weak side of reality.

The "muslim" and "terrorist" comments are far fetched weak accusations created by the right out of hatred.
Seriously, get a grip on reality. I'm sure when you heard the Obama is a muslim rumor you believed it too.

Who's next to label a terrorist by the right? Oh I know, the 4 kids who died at Kent State. They were protestors so they must have been terrorists.

The hypocracy from you guys borders on insanity.n Some of the stuff you say is a direct result of the Dems brain washing. Blaming Bush for everything for starters.

Nobody here mentioned Bush, why are you so hot and bothered?
Please cite examples of "dems brain washing".

And for the last time its hypocrisy.

So when Palin says he is palling around with terrorists and views the US differently then her and then when people call Obama a terrorist and yell off with his head, she has no blame:rotfl:
