The Town of Brookhaven on Long Island has banned fishing and boating at Shoreham Beach and also closed the beach to everyone after Labor Day. Taxpayers are being denied use of the resources they pay such high taxes for. This action serves the few privileged beachfront residents at the expense of the rest of the residents of Brookhaven and beyond. We can not let this action stand.
Please go on-line and sign the petition at :

You do not need to be a resident to sign this, this is a call to everyone to help out.
Send the politicians a message that we will not stand for this. In this day of high taxes, high gas prices and lower pension fund values, the last thing the politicians should be doing is taking away resources that are ours.
It is happening here and it can happen anywhere.
Thank you.

Probably. A "town" on Long Island isn't what you'd expect. It covers a lot of territory, and Brookhaven is one of the largest towns in Suffolk County. And traditionally, the most corrupt. They don't call it "Crookhaven" for nuttin' :(

Well I went to sign your petition but unfortunately they ask for a donation and won't let you go any further. I'm not giving some website $2 and up to do this stuff sorry.
If I got $2 from everyone that read this board I'd not be making plugs anymore I'd be managing my wealth full time.

Maybe they should pay us 2 bucks to sign.
Sign a petition for 2 dollars? :bs:

It was minimum $2 and went up from there. Read the fine print it goes to this LLC petition company too. That's just as wrong as the town closing the beach.

read it again, you don't have to donate for your sig. to be recorded
I signed it, then when it asked for the donation it also said your signature has been recorded and gave options for donation amounts, I just simply X'd out of the site.
you're right, no need to pay for it

my apologies I did not see that, I got to the payment screen and saw the bottom that said the money went to the petitioning site. It didn't appear to be the end of the submission.
