I just saw on another site and in the obits....Captain Charlie Lemieux of Cats Cradle Charters has passed away after his long battle with pancreatic cancer. If you knew Charlie, you were glad you did...and if you never had the pleasure, you sure missed one of the truely great people out there on the water. Charlie survived a massive heart attack awhile back and after fighting back from this he was dealt another tough hand but he never lost his good nature and his friendly way. I last saw him in April at the RISSA Show when he came by my booth. After all he had been through he was the same friendly, happy guy I met several years ago around the fisherman's circle. Rest in peace Charlie.....you will be missed.:(

Words cannot describe the thoughts I have seeing this. Charlie was a special friend. I ran into him many many times on the water and he was one of those people who was just a true gentleman.

LEMIEUX, Charles P. 58, Of Plymouth, died Tuesday, October 14th after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was raised in Duxbury, graduated from Duxbury High School in 1968 and attended Windham College in Putney, VT. He worked for many years in his family's business, Wes-Pine Windows in Hanover. He enjoyed reading and was an avid fisherman who loved sharing this sport with people of all ages. He taught fly casting and fly tying, was an Orvis Endorsed Guide and worked at Henry Weston Outfitters in Pembroke and Rod Builder's Workshop in Kingston. He was a member of the Cape Cod Charter Boat Assn., Coastal Conservation Assn. and Trout Unlimited. He was currently employed at Monahan's Marine in Weymouth. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and an accomplished guide. He ran his own fly fishing charter business, "Cat's Cradle Charters" fishing in Plymouth and surrounding waters. Captain Charlie will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Licia A. (Weare) Lemieux of Plymouth, brother, Louis A. Lemieux of Duxbury, two sisters, Dianna J. Lemieux of Springfield and Yvonne L. Cornelius of Duxbury and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Wow!!! RIP Charlie. I've had many long talks with Charlie over the years. I'll miss seeing and talking to him around the fishing circuit. Very sad news indeed.

A long time supporter of MSBA and many others...in addition to Monahans I would always bump into him on his fall trip to South County...truely a loss...rest in peace friend!!!!

Someone brought this up on another board and I used to think it was the funniest thing.

Charlie would carry a bag of popcorn with him on the boat, when he got to a spot and there was more than one or two boats on fish he'd move off a bit and throw a few handfuls of popcorn out on the water. The gulls would go bezerk and all the boats would move over there thinking there was a big blitz there. Then he'd move back over to the original spot and bail stripers :hee:

As mentioned before, Charlie, is a great guy. I would always bump into him in Dux/plymouth bay, Monahans or the shows. he would always bring his green northcoast over to chat or exchange reports. He was a great fisherman and I learned a lot from our brief exchanges. RIP Charlie.

I first met Charlie at Henry Weston in Pembroke. From there I saw him everywhere else, on and off the water. Couldn't stand to be away from fishing and never had a job that wasn't connected to it. He owned property along with his wife right around the corner from me in East Bridgewater, in Elmwood. I dont believe he ever had the chance to develop it. I knew of the heart attack, but not the cancer. Really sucks, great guy.
