I noticed they let him have his way on second and third down. I also think the laundry would have stayed in their pockets if one of the Rams creamed Cassel ;)

When you line up in the take-a-knee formation, you're telling the other team that we're done playing, so we can all let up. If you line up to take a knee--take a freaking knee. If you try to #^&#^&#^&#^& around like that, all bets are off as far as the other team goes.

Thats right Mike....take a knee dammit! The other team knows he is gonna take a knee....so go down on your knee! Then 2nd and 3rd down he still doesn't go down....idiot!

They were just trying to take a few extra seconds off the clock....If you can spend an extra 2 seconds per down before you take the knee x 3 there's an extra play you take away from the other team.

Its not like he tried to run a play or do something fancy....he noticed he couldn't run the clock out so they tried to get a few extra ticks off the clock.

And I do agree with that....if you're gonna try something then you have to be ready for the rams to try something.

5-2,tied for the AFC East..I'll take it..As wide open as the NFL is this year,I can't complain. With the injury situation this team has faced to date,no f/n complaints at all...

BBJ got it right, just doing what Cassel was supposed to and what he was told by the coach to take time off the clock because they knew The Rams would call a timeout after the whistle, but no time even came off the clock at all so belichick let the refs have it since matt did not take a knee. The way I see it, it's no different from trying to draw an offsides with a hard count. The Rams should have tried to knock Cassel down, but they did not, they just assumed he'd take a knee. The officials should just officiate.

good enough game to get the win, so that's all that matters.
