I am thinking of heading out Tuesday or so for some Cod, Haddock, Pollock
Go toward Stellwagon. I have not fished since July because of health issues, so I am looking forward to this!

Hi Joe, sorry, I haven't heard anything from up north. But I found these online and thought they might help you. Glad you are well again, just in time to store the rods and break out the snow shovel! :hihi:
Looks like you should have your tuna gear on board....

It is my understanding that cod fishing closes in the Gulf of Maine from 11/01/08 through March of 09.

Alternatives would be to not fish in federal waters

I just want to go see a few whales, and have a good time!! I am better but not that much better yet!
But the rule is:
Nov 01 - Nov 30 24 in 2 fish / person
(75 lb / boat)
And there are other fish to be had out there still! :heybaby:

Went out this past Monday, ended up off the east side of the bank, about half-way up the bank from Ptown, 250 feet of water.
Slow pick - did all jigging - had no bait (real good for a tackle shop owner) - got ten, most around 26 inches, but one which weighed in around 25 pounds.
Good luck.

the top of the bank on the northwest corner is loaded. alot of small fish. but if you stay at it youll can cull out bigger fish. caught fish within 30 seconds of each jig hitting bottom.
