Well as some of you may know I have had a bad time this summer with my health. So I have not been on the water in my boat since July.
But I have been feeling a bit better and with the help of a cortisone shot in the back I am pretty good theses days.
So when a friend said what I thought about taking my boat out to Stellwagon Bank for a Tuna trip I said sure lets go!!

So it was I, Bigbo, friends Kenny & Mark. We had some small engine problems (fuel related) but they did not stop us!!

So here is Mark reeling in the fish, Mark is a body builder and is like a power winch reeling this thing in!!

Fish was 60" about 150#

Bigbo did the harpooning

Kenny worked the leader and Mark the gaff and I did the cutting for the bleed.

The reward

I was the driver, and let me tell you that is no easy task with a missile zooming back and fourth in and out!!

It is all team work!! Everyone had there job! We were hoping for another as you are allowed 2 fish. But they all went down deep after the morning bite and we had no deep divers with us this day.

Here are some more random shots some from me some from CB

I have seen many whales out there before, but not as many as we saw today! At one point I had to stop a troll just to let a mother and her calf to go by us! It was great!!

Nice job Macojoe.
Just for a clarification,
regs are
1 fish 27 in - 47 in
1 fish 47 in - 72 in
and one giant 73 in + per year.
So in other words, you can't keep 2 60 inch fish

Thanks Ron!! But I knew that, there is only one fish there they are all of the same fish!
We got it on a slugo top water, after the morning feed they went deep and I had no deep divers, so the rest of a day was a site seeing trip and that was fine by me!!

WOW - thanks for the tease!!! Nothing fights like a tuna. :) Big, bad and tasty - woooooooo hooooooo!!

I never knew people used sluggos for tuna. :) Hmmmm..... everything else likes to chop on sand eels so why not.

It would have been worth it just to watch it live. Whales that close are an added bonus!

May be BigBo will bring a piece next week.;)

Heck, I would have been eating that bad boy while you were still bleeding him ..... lol. Got wasabi! :D

No problem Joe.
You would be suprised how many don't know the regulations or don't obey them.
We witnessed this yesterday with a smaller center console on the sw corner.
This boat had a fish tail roped tied off on each side on the boat and they stayed tied off for over an hr. Surely neither one was getting released !
Sure enough each fish was hauled into the boat to be taken home, :rocketem:
Maybe the guy didn't know, maaybe he didn't care :rollem:
