Yesterday we headed out for a quick trip before the big blow started. Got on the grounds, lines in, and not long after that we get a solid 58" fish to eat our offering. Leader, gaff, and bled out we set the spread out again to have it get blasted again. 2 fish; one released to be caught again and a full freezer.

Plenty of fish out there still. They will be here at least until Thanksgiving for those willing to freeze.

I was also out last Monday and the same result. Fish were eager to eat. If you can get on top of them they will eat.

Steve, Jeff, Chris great time yesterday and especially last night!

Was out there Saturday. Lots of fish as Keeper said. Frustrating to get them to eat topwater plugs, but they did inhale rubber with reckless abandon.

Came close to losing a finger as I was trying to get a tangle undone between myself and another line. Next thing I know I feel the line go tight in my left hand so I just dropped the lures and the line. Next thing two rods are folded over and drags screaming, We cut the lines immediately to avoid the chaos. A close call for sure.

Whales put on a heck of a show, and I was very close to getting a small seal to eat the sluggo. He was on it but turned just at the last second as he saw the boat. That would have been a blast as the gear would have been a good match for him.

Looking for another weather window to get back out there.

A friend of his caught the beast and gave him a jingle to meet down the pier. Equipment was a Penn 130 soaking bait on an 8/0 hook, fight took ~ 1 hr. Too big to haul into the boat and took some ingenuity back at the dock/pier to lift and weigh. Waiting for final dimensions, etc today.

Fairly close to shore also, within a few miles off the coast. With all the commercial boats out there, I guess it's a continuous chum line for these fish and they're chowing right near and up to fisherman's boats.

jeff you earned that fish today man. 5 foot fish, 5 foot seas, 20 foot boat. 3 quarters of the way out i look at f4s and say the charter guys arn't even out, what the f are we doing. he tells me we're almost there, let's troll for an hour. we get there and he sets up the spread while i'm driving. there are fish of all sizes exploding everywhere. after a few passes we have one on and i clear the spread while jeff starts to do battle w/ no belt or harness. we get it in the boat and head for the dock. we get back by 9:30 and i feel like we went through a war. jeff handled the helm like a pro and that boat kicks a$$. the only other boat we saw was what looked like an 18 cc w/ 2 mofos crazier than us. thanks jeff - see you next week. on a calmer day please. the crappier the day the better the fishing - always seems to be the case

Weather loos like crap all the way into next week now?? If I don't get out next week I am going to call it a season.
I went Wed only to be greated by 5 footers and then have a trim tab problem, one stuck and was going side ways in the sea, turned around and home I came.
All fixed now so we see what next week holds for us?
