Just when you thought you were going to have to brave another cold New England winter and suffer the depression that comes with striper withdrawal, Laptew Productions comes to the rescue with a brand new DVD.

“Secrets of the Striper Pros Volume 1 & 2” is a compilation of strategies and tactics used by more than 16 of the most respected and accomplished captains, surf fishermen, authors and tournament winning anglers. I probe the underwater world of bass to show how they feed, where they feed and how you can target trophy fish. The single-sided, double-layered DVD contains the entire content from an early video (digitally re-mastered) produced in 1998 plus an additional 2 DVDs worth of new content covering a host of contemporary tips and techniques...it’s like getting three DVDs for the price of one –three hours of content!

The fishing grounds range from Massachusetts to New York and the cast of talent is a proverbial who’s who in the world of striper fishing: Capt. Bob Rocchetta, Capt. Nick Karas, Capt. Buddy Vanderhoop, Capt. Brian Vanderhoop, Captain Capt. Skip Stritzinger, Chuck Masso, Capt. Blaine Anderson, Capt. Doug Jowett, Lou Tabory, Capt. Jim White, Capt. Duane Lynch, Capt. Ken Zwirko, Capt. Ryan Sansoucy, Lefty Kreh, Dan Blanton and Steve McKenna.

The content of this DVD is the culmination of over 12 years of filming and diving effort. No matter how you fish, whether it’s from shore or a boat, whether you fish with spinning, fly or conventional tackle this DVD will help you catch more and larger fish.

Just watching Lefty Kreh tying his legendary deceiver fly or watching a 40 pound striper being landed in the surf at night is worth the $29.95 price of the DVD. As always, this DVD comes with the guarantee that the only place you’ll see more stripers is in your dreams.

The DVDs will be shipped to retailers just before Thanksgiving and I know that local retailers and sponsors of striped-bass.com will be happy to take your orders.

I’ll give you some sneak peeks in the days ahead.

Guys,

I'm glad to see such a positive response...you might think we already had a snow storm or two.

All the retailers will all be getting their DVDs at about the same time (depending on distance from the LI replicating facility) so sorry, no early releases. However, earlier today I already shot off an email to John asking him to dream up a contest with a DVD as a prize.

But wait there's more!

In addition to the DVD the winner will also receive a half dozen eels I have left over from my last fishing trip and unfortunately forgot to freeze...seriously, I'm going to include an 8 X 10 autographed copy of the DVDs background artwork.

So now it's up to John to dream up the rules.

Let the games begin.

Thanks Mike!

OK Larry, Don, et al - let's come up with a worthy contest for a give away DVD.

Suggestions? Smallest striped-bass on a picture?
Best home made SB fishing video?
Best Picture?
Best Kid Picture?
Best Story?

Let's rattle off some ideas

How about , who ever picks up the most bags of trash from fishing areas wins??? I know a lot of spots near me are disgusting!! Never understood why all the trash cleanups are in the spring, way more trash in the fall!

Good idea Chef - an end of the season S-B Trash-a-thon - maybe a good idea before the weather really turns to poop :hs:

It's also be a good way to get together for spinning a few salty yarns about the season past - and you can either brag or confess to the bitter truth, depending -

I know what side I'd be on so far :bc:

Is that something which will have little effect as the winter storms put more right back?

Sure more may wash up , but its less trash near the water regardless. Lots of trash near parking areas too, no more is gonna wash up there.

Beach Whistles :bl:

While I like the idea, I don't think we'll get enough people to put a dent in beyond cleaning Chef's spot :laughs: - I DO think we need to organize better in the spring for clean ups...

How about Best Picture? Or Best Picture with Short Story, 50 words or less?

Posted and added to thread, run for a week or so, quick poll, choose winner?

Mike,
I got the DVD for x-mas and just got through watching Vol. 1.
Great video.
I was also glad to find out about the "secret weapon". Now I know what to throw when all else fails.
P.S. Bluefish blitz is nuts.
