Long Island, NY (East End)

Since it’s under investigation by the Southampton Police, I’M going to limit what I share with you for now and just state some important facts.

During a night (into early morning) fishing both sides of Moriches, I ran over some wood leaving Moriches West (keeping my headlights off) on the beach. As it was a slow leak, I noticed a flat after leaving Moriches East (which was the last place I fished).

A AAA type service was called for a tire change. I saw the bag just prior to that tire change. The bag was noticed missing just after that tire change. I did NOT firsthand see the theft of the bag nor am I accusing anyone (just stating facts). The statement given to the police contains these facts.

The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for the theft is either $1,000.00 Cash or a New ZeeBass Spinning Reel of your choice and a Lamiglass Surf Rod.
The follow is a list of the stolen Items-

Hunter 4 tube square Surf Bag in white
Hab’s 2 oz Needle/ Pink
Hab’s 2 oz Needle/ Yellow
Hab’s 2 oz Needle /Black with Sparkles
Hab’s 3 ½ oz Needle/ Copper
Afterhours 2 ½ Oz Needle / Lobsta
BM 2 oz Needle/ Mackerel
BM 3oz Wadd/ Yellow
BM 3oz Wadd / Purple
BM 3oz Wadd / Pink Pearl
SS Darter/ Yellow
SS 2 3/8 Bottle/white
North Bar Bottle plug (not darter)/ Yellow
Andrus Bucktails/ 1 1/4oz, 1 1/2oz & 2oz
Hopkins Tin 2oz
Hunter Leader Wallet (10-12 pretied leaders)

This is not about getting my gear back. The reward will be paid regardless of the return of my gear. Its about teaching a thief a lesson.

Gee....I wonder what happened....

I hope you get your thief, and also hope the PD is taking it seriously enough to investigate.

I guess some people feel entitled to other's possessions. wtf.

Yet another example on how some people suck. On an "unrelated" note, maybe I should consider dropping my AAA membership.... Did you think about contacting AAA management?

Sorry for your loss.

If I see anyone with a white Hunter bag I'll shoot 'em straight away.

PS
Congrats to Don for getting a plug into that lineup.

Was there anyone there besides you and the tow dude?

Not another sole was around. Just me and my tired arse from fishing a tide and a half, two different sides of an inlet.

If it didn't get misplaced I would have to say the tow truck driver is your main suspect

Sorry for your loss

Oh man, that's a tough loss. I'd be tempted to stake out this guy's house if I had that stuff stolen... Or even sue the tow truck company. I don't know...something. I'd be f'n pissed tho and if I was absolutely positive it was him but couldn't prove it ... well he would eventually get his probably later rather than sooner.

Check nearby pawnshops...if it was the truck guy, he probably has no clue what to do with any of it... sorry for the loss... on a lighter note, I'd be willing to frame someone for the reward you're offering!!!
