Hey, BF - when I saw this thread that was the first one I thought of -

I saw them at the Newport Festival in '69 or '70, can't remember which - God knows I have my reasons :rollem: -

Plant, Page and Bonham were in their prime and awesome - it was bitchin' as we used to say back in the day :hihi:

Probably my favorite, too. It's about as straight ahead rockin' as it gets. I also like Dy'er Mak'er (great summertime song) and Going to California, but Rock & Roll always sounds good.

:conf: :shocked:Mainstream!?!? I formed my opinion about that "Rock & Roll" number after watching them torch it for about 20 minutes, bringing down the house at the Prov. CC in '75. Was far from mainstream (the Cadillac song) then!!!!!
:whackin: :skulz: :cheers2:
PS I'm thinkin' this forum otta liven things up around here over the winter.

pretty much like all zeps songs. there is a time and place for all the songs, most of the time it is on a beach with a fire and a glow. when i want to listen to some blues type of stuff, some of the zep I will listen to to start.

Since i've been loving you

Wow- Tough one! Doubt if I could choose between these ones.

Ramble On
Out On The Tiles
Immigrant Song
Battle Of Evermore
Stairway- (Come on, if it wasn't played to death, we'd all say it was the greatest song ever written.) To be honest with you, I never get sick of it.

Honorable mention:

When The Levee Breaks
The Rain Song
Communication Breakdown
No Quarter

What a band. I never get sick of them, and they never cease to blow my mind.

all good...

this one stands out 'cause it's different for them...
Plant had a major crush on Joni Mitchell, when he wrote this song...
that explains the folk sound and lyrics..

also a favorite...'cause it usta work wonders, on the old 8 track in the car, when i was datin' a certain gal back in the early 70's...... :hihi:....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxv9fWhFJKs

Karl , you must've been quite the dude back in the day...LZ in the tape deck, hot babe and a bottle of Boone's Farm..:hihi:

Hell, I remember that same stuff myself, sportin' around Newport with nary a care in my Vee Dubya Fastback with the sunroof open - damn, those really were the days when the world was an oysta at your feet...:)

Hey Katie check this out Joe Bonamassa playing Tea for one his last album. J. Bonham's son is on drums and sounds just like his dad. Great rendition.

AOL Radio has stations just for punk and Led Zeppelin. :kewl:

Anyone who loves LZ's guitar solos, Achilles's Last Stand is a great song too. :)
