What kinds of "How-To Stuff" should we talk about this winter?

Several people were looking for a method of the month, lure of the week and things like that - what kind of topics should we hit up in detail this winter?

Thanks!

John

One idea i have would be a weekly step by step process of finishing something like a plug kit. Or possibly building rods. Have a step a week, the folks could use that week to get that part done then at the end have a show your stuff thread. If it were plugs there could be a big plug swap. If it was rods maybe a sponsor would lend his expertise after hunting season. I dont know if it would be possible but having rod kits available for purchase, all the goodies to make a rod packaged together so it would be easy to hit the ground running. I think a few of us would like to try rod building, hell i have all the components of a rod laying around the house, just gotta get around to putting it all together.

I think all suggestions so far are great. The reel and the plug kit one would be great for me.

Let's do one called how to rebuild your VS, get thru disassembly, drop it after that. I probably could find a good deal on a basket case VS then.

I'm for fly tieing. Bigass salt water fies, the wilder the better!
Giant Herring Flies, Crab, Shrimp, Squid, Eels - I think they're cool.

How about a thread or subject matter on jigging up for various types of plugs. Maybe one on darters or bottle plugs or cutting the angles on various plugs etc etc....
How different plug makers produce consistent results.
Some makers have done demos at Plugfest, maybe they have videos?:heybaby:

I think any kind of informative tutorial type info always helps.
I know, years ago, I broke down a 302, with out any info on the reel.
And I almost blew it, until I found out where that little " key" piece goes on the shaft, under the rotor cup.
That kind of info would be good for the ones who don't know.
And such info, and pictures, on breaking down, one of the newer Abu 7000i reels. If one doesn't know, that they have to undo the nut that holds down the line release lever, they will have a popped, sprung spring.

How to lie about your catch rate while keeping a straight and serious convincing face? :claps:
I could have used this right up till about August, i had to keep saying "Uh, the guy I was with caught a nice one."

Also "I got skunked " turned into "No keepers"
