You to Dave, although I'm sure I'm bound to bump into you on a certain CT river I know:). In fact I'm going to be on it tomorrow with an old friend (Drew you better be there bud) from Worcester.

To everyone else may the raindeer not crap on your roof and may the fat one bring you some decent plugs or rubber instead of ties:). Hope everyone has a safe holiday and a happy new year. Towards that end, here is a little holiday poem for you :).

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
not a damn thing was working, not even my mouse.
My isp was down, I couldn’t connect;
my holiday posts, I’d have to forget.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of computer games, danced in their heads.
And mamma was drinking to calm her nerves down;
this holiday just about makes her melt down.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the monitor to see what was the matter.
I tripped over dozens of batteries spread out on the floor;
the language would be censored as my face met the door.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
made me sad with three months of this crap;
before I could pull the boat from under it’s wrap.

But a UPS van, making a last minute stop,
I knew in a moment it must be payday.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
and he whistled, and shouted, and said not today.

"Now, SLIP! And, BM! And, JENN and JOHN!
All received their gift certificates this morning at dawn.
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
I yelled as he left, come on that can’t be them all.

So back in the house, with a frown on my face;
with an arm full of boxes, from each mail order place.
All for the kids, but nothing for Dad,
I’d fished far too much, and so I must have been bad.

And then, in a twinkling, as I sat on the floor,
The steady knocking of someone at the front door.
As I drew the door open, whom do I meet,
but Habs from on south and his elf named Tatoo?

They were dressed in fishing gear, from head to foot,
and their clothes made a statement, or was it their looks?
A bundle of darters Tatoo had flung on his back,
and poppers galore were spilling out from Hab's pack.

Their eyes -- how they twinkled! Hab's dimples how merry!
Tatoo's cheeks were like roses; he'd been drinking some bluebuerrys?
As he entered the house, my dogs went berserk,
and my wife gave us all a good long stern look.

Habs spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
and rigged a 9 footer from reel to the tip,
complete with a swivel, some fluoro and snap.
Then looked at me smirking as he looked in his pack.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
he smiled as he said you know why I’m here,
I’ve come for the rubber it’s that time of year.
I said your mistaken, I've not poured anything but crap
and springs months away, you better come back.

They sprang out the door and jumped in Hab's truck
and said I’m disappointed Mr. Sirois, this is truly bad luck.
You said come get some rubber and I come all this way,
To find out you haven’t a clue and have nothing today.

As they drove away, they yelled out the door,
We might come back if you learn how to fish,
but you better not waste our time on a wish.
We don’t mind travelling we haven’t a care,
but bait us with talk of rubber and you better beware.

NJ's fall run never happened, dont know why, but it never happened. So in light of that, I got 3 weeks vacation to use up before January 1st and the family is going to spend the holidays at the Outer Banks. Was supposed to leave Friday but my dad came down with the flu, so we're waiting till Wednesday. Ahhh, Christams in Hatteras! Blitzes everyday for the last week, and no end in sight! HEHEHEHEHE, I'll let ya's know how it went when I get back.
