no not the baseboard type

the portable on wheels models....

this is a public service message for all S-B ers
contemplating the purchase of one ...rather than cranking
the thermostat all the time sending our
money over seas...for heating oil

we bought the cheapo models at wally world ($40.00)
and they basically suck...where you have to invert them and get all the oil to drain to the top
then you put it back on and bang it/shake it to death
to get the litte bastage to start perculatin and throwing some heat... they leave you swearing...:hs:

a better model made by kenwood with a remote keypad and programmable thermostat timer can be purchased at the home depot for 59 bucks and it's a much better unit...

best thing about them is... no fire hazard! and you can warm/ dry a wet sweatshirt on them real easy
before heading out into the flurries. :musc:

I like the fact that they heat the oil and there's no exposed heating element like the old ceramic style of electric heaters.

exactly !! TIM
i almost got electrocuted by one of those
one day while taking a bath... came in contact with that exposed element and got a huge - rush

shoulda fried me in the tub...

instead the jolt went through my arm and grounded else where.... friggan things... what stupid technology that was... or me... on that particular day
