Hey Tatoo..

I didn't get through all the posts on the thread you linked to because of the SnS & SSX "flashbacks" I was having... ;)

So... can ya' tell me what size / weight they are?

Thanks,
Rob

Oh... and another question:
Do you folks use lighter colors on sunny days, and darker colors on cloudy days and at night?

They are 3oz.

Light for day, dark for night.

i would advise a couple yellow or yellow/white, a couple black or black/purple, and maybe an all white or two. oh yeah, and maybe an olive/white too. great plugs! worth the money, in my opinion. don't be left out of this one.

ok, how i work a darter:

once the lure hits the water, i give the line a second to lay down onto the water. i begin the retreive by raising the rod tip sharply to get the lure to "dig" in. the line laying on the water, in my opinion, helps to get the lure to face down when you pull the line to start the lure working. basically, from this point, i work the lure much like i would a popper if i was targeting stripers. a slow steady retreive, with sporadic tugs. this would be a different action than a popper that is targeting bluefish. you want to make the lure shoot off to one side or the other in an exagerated fashion. i like darters because when worked properly, they swim in much less of a uniform pattern than an average lure. they look like a fleeing baitfish that doesn't know where it is being "attacked" from. i try to test swim each darter i fish. some swim a little different than others, and by testing each one, you will better understand just what it is doing out there.
i hope this helps.

in the water attached to a line attached thru your guides to a reel !

I would toss it into a rip let the nose dig in ( youll feel it vibrating ) let it ride thru the rip . If you feel the vibrating as the nose digs in your working it right .

i got mine towards the end of the season. great plugs, for the limited use i got out of them though! i think i caught a fish on about my 3rd or 4th cast with one. they swim as deep as say a SS darter i guess. maybe around 5'+ deep. very good "swimming" action and a very well constructed lure. beats the heck out of any other wooden darter on the market!
