View Full Version : S-B Plug Swap
Fishpart 12-13-2002, 09:18 AM I am looking for a total of about ten people interested in doing a plug swap. I would also like to use this as an opportunity to help generate some income to help John keep the lights on for US. After we get a final count, we'll each make one plug more than the number of people who sign up. If ten people sign up I would ask each person to make 11 of the same plugs and send them to me minus hooks. I will collect all the plugs and send one of each plug to everyone who participates minus the plug you made. That will give two extra sets of plugs that I will get to John so he can use them in support of the site. I would like to get all the plugs by March 15th so if John chooses he will have a set to raffle at the MSBA show. We'll work out any other details as they develop.
So far we have:

TheSpecialist 12-16-2002, 05:05 PM So Ed we are gonna say this is closed with 10 people right?
Everyone makes 11 plugs, we should shoot for the end of Febuary, the MSBA show is probably gonna be in March.
Christian 12-16-2002, 07:57 PM what are people going to make, or should it be a suprise?
bassmaster 12-16-2002, 10:54 PM I want to Make the BM popper, I may have to clear coat instead of epoxy not sure, But will get on it......
alot of projects going on here:smash:
Fishpart 12-17-2002, 07:09 AM The Specialist (I like the new name) is right, we should close with 10 people with each person making 11 plugs. The end of February is good, that will give us a couple of weeks till MSBA to round up any stragglers.
Be nice to know what you are making if you don't want it to be a surprise. I'll PM my adress to all of you some time after the New Year.
Christian 12-17-2002, 03:52 PM ill be making the master-bait. i just had to say it. um, its a polaris type popper w/ a candle pin shape body and a head thats just different. it looks good.
TheSpecialist 12-17-2002, 05:22 PM Thanks Ed, the name change was John R's idea. I think I will make pikies or Beachmasters.
Christian 12-22-2002, 03:48 PM heres a pic of the maker-me and the similar plug- for a close up look at recent plug pics. the one for the swap doesnt have mack stripes and the one the swap will have 3d eyes instead of the holograms. hope you likey.

Fishpart 01-08-2003, 06:57 AM I'm not sure if my darters will be olive over white or if they'll be sort of a parrot color.

JohnR 01-08-2003, 09:18 AM BM - Specialist and I have been going over this Squid colored Danny for many moons now (since September anyway) :p
Bill - no prob if the color is too tough...
Christian 01-17-2003, 10:32 AM how are people doing w/ them so far?
i have to lead now.
chumbucket 01-17-2003, 03:09 PM Slow...very slow...as in I'll probably be finishing them just before the deadline and holding everything up...:(
If anyone doesn't mind investing the time, I would love to get together with someone who can show me the art of plug making!
I missed the event at Slip's & have been dying to learn the art.
There must be nothing like catching Bass or Blues your own Plugs!
TheSpecialist 01-17-2003, 04:14 PM Mine are ready for paint. Don, I would show you, but I work in a tiny area with barely enough room for one right now. Besides I am way up in Quincy.
Bernzy 01-17-2003, 05:16 PM All are painted and have one coat of epoxy.
They should be ready to ship by the end of next week.

Christian 01-18-2003, 06:52 PM http://striped-bass.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5703 :D
TheSpecialist 01-18-2003, 08:30 PM That is a Mr. Pogie I believe.
hay Christian, that popper is a replica of a new model put out by pradco this year I ferget the name some chugskittrpopthing. as you can see it didn't take long for a guy of Mr. pogie"s skill to make his own(probably better)rendition. I'd like to see how he wires it there must be some backwards rapping (tail loop forward)to get the two sections that close.I thinn.........Oh yea in my last post you had a question. I'm clappin cause the stuff looks great.then I slowly get madder till I'm screamin an banggin my head on the wall then I put my girlfriend in the woodchipper (only kiddin) then I explode. why? I'M NOT IN IT AAAAAAAAAAAAA. a mad man an his smilee poetry..........
bassmaster 01-18-2003, 10:44 PM im going to turn bodys tomorrow or monday:)
Slipknot 01-18-2003, 11:12 PM That popper in that pick made by mrpogie is like a Knucklehead, not anything like the one Knucklehead is gonna make for the swap :) His is more of a cornicoppia shape thing.
Christian 01-19-2003, 09:07 AM nib-oooo, ok.
finished leading on 8 of em. almost ready for primer.
Christian 01-19-2003, 06:50 PM these eyes.

I'll give you a brand new Atoms StriperSwiper plug, never used... if you want?
Or i could dig up something else. i don't care- not looking for anything in return :D

BTW: I plan to give a cash donation for the site when i start working. if it's wanted.......i know how expensive Vbulletin can get!
