I hear reggae/jazz type fusion ,, is that correct ? Did reggae evolve from SKA ? very different ,, almost old, honky tonk sounding too .. thanks for sharing .. heard a commercial on the radio about SKA .. wasn't sure what it was .

ska was first in the late 50's or early 60's ? Then rocksteady and shortly after reggae ??

here is a little twist for thos who never heard ska, its the background to some early 60s pop, listen to this tune and listen to the groove and the horns. This is ska.

I think this is rock steady, but very ska like, I love Desmond Decker. Can you imagine being in the studio when they recorded these?

wow, check this out from Karl F's link - Rod Stewart on My boy Lolipop!

Ska went to England with the immigrants of the early 1960's and was initially known as 'Bluebeat'. The first international ska hit was 'My Boy Lollipop' by Millie Small. It was recorded in England in 1964 for Island Records and featured a young English Mod Rod Stewart, just beginning his own music career on Harmonica.
