This fall while bass fishing these two bucks where spotted over two miles from shore. They where making their way from the main land Conn. to the Norwalk islands. A couple of years ago the mass state record non-typical rack was found dead by a fisherman in the vinyard sound. I often hear that deer will swim along ways and through strong currents. I wonder what would poses a deer to make such a journey.

I,ve seen them swimming many times while I,m digging
and almost always its been because they have been tracked by hunters ++ usually to a deadend point and they have no choice////////////////////

What's the only thing that would have you swim 2 miles happily? And it ain't food :laughs:

Used to see them crossing th York River from time to time. Plenty of current there depending on the tide.
