A. Why the Red Sox felt they needed Texiera what with Youkilis (who I think is as good if not better and is a better fielder and can play third as well (Sox have Lowell at third so why?) and B. Why all these teams think Texiera is so good??? What has he ever done to merit this kind of money???:rollem:

They do need a young power hitter to replace Manny.
A lot of questions, will Lowell bounce back from his injury ?
Ortiz, I know he was hurt last year, he hasn't done anything in two seasons, I think he is well on the back side?
And after Manny left all he did was whine that he had no protection.
I cant understand when teams put the shift on he can't stroke it to left?
He is old, fat, and slow.

What were they planning to do with either Lowell or Youkilis???

And by the way...I do not believe Texiera is a proven player, not by a long shot! He hit 33 homers last year and drove in what 121?? Batted .308??? It was his fourth year I think?? SO WHAT??!!! I will be curious to see if he can do it again? I just can't believe teams hand out this kind of money and long term contracts base on only 4 full seasons and 1 stellar year??!!

Texeira to 1st, Youk to 3rd, Lowell Bye-Bye...at least that was the plan.

Good player. 6 seasons. Fairly young. 30 plus homers. Great fielder. Still lots of upside. That's why. I would trade Lowell to get him and I like Lowell too.
