View Full Version : Red Hot Deals on Fly rods, reels & tackle
BasicPatrick 12-26-2008, 02:28 PM I hope this is Ok to do but Albright Tackle is blowing out a bunch of their products to make room for the 2009 product line.
Rods, reels & WADERS are mostly 70% off...good deals and figured I would share the knowledge since it was shared with me.
maddog2020 12-26-2008, 02:54 PM FYI - the 10' spinner surf pack rod's guide lay out is a little lame - it honestly could use another guide IMHO or two. ;) It has FOUR guides and a tip. They offered to take it back no problem if it wasn't to my liking. FOAM black foregrip and NOT cork tape like in the picture, too! It casts fine fine for the most part and it would be a rod I would break out of the trunk of my wife's car if I didn't have my normal gear. :) If I was on a boat and fly fishing and I needed to break out a spinning rod then this would serve it's intended function.
Conventional 10' is laid out fine guide wise with correct spacing and casts fine.
Top end rating of these rods is a lob and not the true rating so keep that in mind. :) NOT Fuji components - reel seat and guides are ok/
This "sale" has been going on for about two months now.;) Albright is sold out of a lot of things.
BasicPatrick 12-26-2008, 05:05 PM Thanks for the heads up...I really only know anything about their fly gear which is quality across the board

I used the Trinity waders all this season.Easily one of the best buys I ever made.
At $69 they're $28 more than last year but still a bargain.

mag minnow 12-27-2009, 12:55 PM Earlier this year I bought one of the 10' 4pc surf spin rods on sale. I cut the foam sections off around the reel seat to suit me but besides that it is not a bad rod. I was a pleasantly surprised. It casts ~2oz bucktails pretty well.
Dick Durand 12-28-2009, 11:26 AM The discounted waders at Albright seem to be a great deal. Does anyone know anything about the quality of their fly reels, the GPX in particular, for salt water use?
