ProfessorM 12-31-2008, 10:18 PMInstead of lumping them all in one post I thought we would list the bands and tunes we luv below. Was a big fan of the souther rock phenomena and was lucky to see many of these bands live.

See posts below or above:spin: you know the bands :grins:
Surfcaster2884 01-01-2009, 10:58 PMI'd have to say the Allman Brothers, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. These are the only one's I have in my music collection. I'm interested in hearing some other southern rock bands to check out and add to what I have.
Andy D 01-02-2009, 07:33 AMMarshall Tucker Band #1 Followed by Lynard Skynard , Tom Petty, and The Outlaws were my favorites.
slow eddie 01-02-2009, 12:23 PMmy own personal favorite music. the amazing rythym aces also belong in this grouping
ProfessorM 01-02-2009, 06:29 PMCharlie Daniels Band was always awesome in concert. They could rock with the best of them. A lot of people don't realize how good their first several albums were, not the devil went down to Georgia crap and the stuff towards end. Albums like Nightrider and Fire on the Mountain and Saddle Tramp. Take tune's like Funky Junky or Birmingham Blues. Those tunes cranked.
ProfessorM 01-02-2009, 06:47 PMTom Petty I don't consider them Southern rock.
 Early 38 special
 Outlaws of course
Sea Level - can't tell you how good this band is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Level_(band) Thinking mans southern rock, fantastic stuff if you like that Allman Bros. you will like them, a few former members. Got all their albums on vinyl soon to be on CD I hope.

Gotta wonder how big they would have become if not for the plane crash in 1977
Allen Collins is one of the most under rated guitarist in rock !:humpty:
ProfessorM 01-02-2009, 07:13 PMgreat band I put them in their own heading below somewhere. I really like their earlier stuff the best which I posted below. Ron you familiar with Sea Level. I bet you would dig them being an educated music fan.
Andy D 01-02-2009, 08:03 PMTom Petty - I guess more of a southern rocker than a "southern rock" band . Last time I saw him, doing the song Rebels stuck in my head. I know he was born somewhere in Dixie.
