Anybody have any experience with these rods?
I have seen them in person, and know they use quality parts. I'm just interested in some feed back.
I'm in the market for a 10' stick for my Abu 7000. Thanks in adance for the input.

My cousin had a couple tuna sticks made last year which I've held/used. He's been very happy with them.

Don't think I've ever heard of them.

10' and an Abu - canal? Lots of good, proven choices....

Bob make quality rods. We had an issue with 2 tuna rods on a friends boat and he took care of it promptly. They were swivel tips and were not working properly. Fit and finish decent. Mike at M&D's or CMS are other top choices. Remember it is the blank and components that makes up the quality and effectiveness of the rod.

Do a search on this topic and most of your questions should be answered.

I could never find any information on what blanks he builds his rods on? Are the tuna rods no name blanks, Lami, Calstar, Shakespere, Pac Bay.......why is this not stated? It would give you an ides of what you are buying. Judging by the relatively low prices compared to other "customs" these rods are priced to sell but I don't think the blanks say on a tuna rod is a top of the line Calstar. For the money they look like and I'm sure they are a good stick but as Keeper said it is the components that give the rod a feel.

Bob uses mostly American Tackle products.

See the article on spiral wraps in OTW December 2008.

I am trying to figure out what blank for a stand up tuna stick I should try wrapping my first spiral on......

They are excellent rods made locally by a guy who is in the know. They are made from good quality stuff. We sell them in the store. All buyers have been very satisfied.

Thanks for the input everybody...I know Bob J. personally and have fished with him. He is a hell of a guy and his rods look great, but when we went out we didn't get any hook ups so I didn't get to bend any rods. I was just looking for some first hand knowledge from those who have fished his rods. When I see him again, I'll be sure to pass along the praise. Those spiral/acid wrapped rods are pretty wild looking...from what Bob says they allow the angler to put the boots to the Tuna even with lighter tackle, I hope to find out first hand this season.
