I'm sorry you feel that way. Care to post a thread that demonstrates what you are saying? Yeah, it might happen from time to time in the winter...but that is the exception, not the norm here. If a post involves spots, locations, or access, it is kind of an unwritten rule that it be quashed and dealt with or discussed through PMs. A thicker skin is recommended in the winter months, but at least it isn't full contact like on some other sites. Have you been able to attend aby of the functions or trips? Stick around and drop me a PM if you have questions or comments you would like to put up.

Sorry you feel that way . As far as people go , Its the same mixed bag here as anywhere else . I always think, there's no such thing as a dumb question . Who knows why people respond the way they do sometimes . Maybe a bad day at the office ,, maybe a good day . :cheers2:.Sometimes personalitys just clash . Not everyone is perfect , like us ..:kewl:

Ignore Duke - he's a cantankerous PIA anyway :rotflmao:

Seriously (seriously, ignore Duke) its one of the disadvantages of being online and not having a face to face with someone is that it gets harder to tell when someone is breaking stones. And while I don't want to make an excuse for it this is also winter :wall:

Flip side of the coin, some new people jump in and want to go from Noob to Sharpie in 20 posts per day and ask, and even demand people give up their best info to people they have never met...

Its a balance thing... In the end, probably good to not to get too upset about it as it is just the Internet. It is a tool (for tools :rotflmao:) that will help you, let you meet similar minded folk ()lot of that goes on here), and it is one of those places where you will get out what you put in...

This site is much more friendly than the largest site. There are many sites out there and you are correct, some people just aren't friendly like on the shoreline. Don't let those arragant people turn you away.

Remember they want the whole shoreline to themselves, don't give in it's a free country and people talk tough on the internet.

I am not sure what specific gripe you have as I really try not to read as much as I use to but its hard to believe that anyone would sour on this particular site
I find members here to be more polite then most other places I visit.

Too bad! You should stick around Ilovetwofish. I have learned alot on this website and I have tried to give pointers also. I do agree that it can get a little dicey sometimes but alot of that is good natured joking and, JR was right, not being "face to face", I can see were thing s can get misunderstood. Hang in there Iloveto fish. I think the majority of the membership are good guys and gals who just love to bass fish.

Woe to us, such times are these that a man with 400 posts might take Clammer seriously. Lost in the desert we are, I tell ye, excepting Eddy who is probably lost in the dessert. Why this site is a sight that would'th make a fourth grade spelling teacher retch and vomit, methinks. An abhorrent thing, where bait fishermen and spinning rod fairies feel free to pontificate, belching forth their vileness, splendiferously smug in their repugnance. Where canal water s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g unwashed eel fisherman, soulless pogy soaking lowlife, and hormonally contorted plastic plug fisherman hold court, caressing each other's sticky egos while the Great Banished eelSatan smiles approvingly. Alas, or a lass if you got one to spare, sad lonely times are these for us honest, God-fearing, handsome, clean-conscienced fellows with only our large plug collections and a nice inflatable doll to give us comfort. You have done right in leaving, son, ......now go forth and fish wood plugs so ye too shall be saved.....but crush your barbs and release all fish just to be sure.
Amen

Smartassery is part of the atmosphere here. Try to keep in mind that fishing is supposed to be fun and funny, if it isn't, it's another job. Literal, virtual, and comical, the three planes of existance here....Relax this is a fun ride.

Twofish,

I left the other big site due to racism. 99% of my posts there were either giving or receiving info and hints about the gear we use and collect. It got to the point where I did not feel good about being part of that site. You will find jerks everywhere you go in life, but at some point you need to stand up for what you believe in. Anyway, I left that site for this one and have never looked back.

I received a warm welcome here. Some times a fellow may type quick and not come off the way he intended. I think this site is full of good guys. Please stick around.

I felt the exact same way when I started looking here. I eventually came to the conclusion though that most people here are ok and a lot are really nice and helpful. My rule is that once someone says something rude or uncalled for I just ignore that person and move on; no rebuttal or ongoing arguement I just ignore it. All the online fishing sites seem to have a few jerks who wanna tell you how amazing they are and why you're too stupid to live (the big boating site comes to mind) so I think you just have to ignore those to get the most out of the site. There's a lot of good info here so it's worth having to deal with a few bad apples.

I thought this site was redonkulous when I first saw my husband on it. The stuff people said was obnoxious. My first post was not the best thread. I started a whole bunch of sh**! But once you meet them in person as long as you yourself have a sense of humor you learn to  them! Most are very good fishermen and have good knowledge to pass on. I have learned more from the people here then I could ever imagine. My passion for fishing is greater than ever and its because of many many people on this site. Thats just my 2 cents about what goes on here.

Now Larry we can have a group hug otherwise it would be questionable without a girl in it!:smash:

This post wasn't ment to be directed toward you Duke or any one person.I'm not trying to come across as a sissy baby who can't take a joke or a single stupid comment from a stupid person.I didn't start this post because of my last post either, it was because of hearing comments from other people who just lerked or thought about starting a post and have read other post's.I have met a few people from this sight and they are good people.I also belong to a few other sights and belong to a surffishing club. There are jerks everywere you go thats understood. I just think if someone is asking a question about a certain thing which doesn't have anything to do with spot burning or something similar, the (elite fisherman) can help they shouldn't comment thats just my opinion.I feel people should put the time in just like everyone else. Not that this post had anything to do with that just figured I would throw that out.

ILTF,

If you were to go back through all the threads...I swear to you about 90% would be highjacked in some way shape or form. But honestly when people are at work or its not the season for them to fish most go cookoo.
Its just why we have that off topic smiley and the grumpy old pharts board...take the good and leave the rest if what you are looking for is the good.
Honestly I can say for myself and my husband we have posted late at night either having a beer or a drink or after a few. But thats where the fun comes in and I can bust out laughing outloud at my computer and people turn and look and think I am crazy. So I can only imagine what others have been doin when they post?!?:heybaby:
Its either pertinent information or funny crap. Ball busting is on every site. I belong to a women's flyfishing forum and they even ball bust on each other. I just worry about the crazy ones....:faga:

Everything is life is 95% BS and 5% truth. I enjoy the BS as it helps pass the time and cherish the 5% I can take away. Some of the people I argue the most with out here would most likley be good friends if we met regularly in person. Find some people you value and can trust and use PMs for specific questions. Thats the best way to get help.

I agree. There is a guy there who just returned after a long absence. His postings makes me wonder how anyone could ever hang out with him (borderline racist in my eye, no compassion for anyone less fortunate, pushy, etc) Yet I've met him in the past and while a little rough around the edges is one of the nicest guys you could ever fish with.
