Paul, did you get the CD's I sent you yet? I sent you a copy of the Sound Track to The Last Waltz....had a feeling you would have an appreciation of it.

I don't care how many times I've seen it. Everytime they air "The Last Waltz", I have to watch it again. :smokin:

Levon Helm played Newport this summer at the Folk Festival - yeah, I know, I already posted this...

I had to work - but just so happens that work is about 1/4 of a mile from the stage and on a strong SW wind it was like being in the press box - he was awesome, and the back-up band was tight

What a talent pool in The Band - Danko, Robbie Robertson, Levon and...and...

Hey would one of you guys who had less fun than I did in the 60's come up with the last name here...

Thanks, Don...:spin:

I woulda come up with that myself after awhile - just too proud to Google it...:laughs:

Here's Levon with his band, taped live a few weeks after Newport, almost 40 years after the album version Paul posted:

I have always been a fan of "It Makes No Difference" and "Olphelia"

Levon's new album Electric Dirt is terrific with a lot of his funky drumming. There is a great version of the Dead's Tennessee Jed. Stands up with any Early Band record.
