View Full Version : If you could have one self serving wish from Santa

Other than peace & joy, happiness, whirled peas, health & prosperity for families & friends, the return of loved ones, the perfect job & the winning Powerball Ticket from XMAS night, (the capture of Osama), what would be the one at least semi-materialistic thing you would wish for Santa to bring you??

For me, there is a particularly nice house on the water near Weekapaug that would be my first choice for pure self-indulgence. OK, indulgence isn't the right word but I have not had enough coffee yet to ge the right words out. But having spent some years growing up in homes on the water, it does have an effect on the soul like very few other "things" can. Kinda like everyday standing on your favorite rock as a warm breeze precedes the first hint of the sun creeping over the horizon after a long & successful night :d ... Hey, if I had that house, I'd just need to make the rocks in front my favorite :rollem: :D

(Let's go Powerball!!! Liam needs a new H2 ;) )

Its hard to fathom that those little beach houses in Rhody that were once owned by middle class people are now the stuff of fantasy. :(

Joe - you're absolutely correct.. Plus - you know this house I'm talking about. Has a couple nice little ledges in front, sweeping views of Block. A nice dry ledge to store your gear as walk down to the surf. Parking is lousy but not as bad as it could be.... But I won't say the name online ;)

John,

What about the house at Watch Hill that the catholic church is going to sell due to bankruptcy???

Tattoo - not sure exactly which one that is but I'd be hard pressed to change the one I'd like... Although there is one at Squibby, one at Cuttyhunk (well, more than one :D ) and a couple in Cohasset that I would trade for :kewl:

Yeah ok if we are dreaming and you mentioned Cohasset, well I'll take that house on strawberry point, man haven't I seen some nice blitzes in that little cove. If that's not available, I'll take the one on the opposite side of the cove on the glades side:). Just would need to get a good engineer in, to get a very nice boat lift designed, so I could just swing the boat in when I'm ready to go hehe. If those two aren't available John, then maybe a house on a small rocky island up towards Hull, yeah maybe that one I could live in for the summer....lol.

Well as long as we are dreaming! This is what I would like Santa to bring me. I know allot of you are going to think, and I know allot of you already know what a perverted and a sick person I am!
For those of you that may find this offensive, I will apologize now for my sick perversion.
One more night in my boat with the pod of fish I had in 1986! You folks can keep the houses, cars, boats, trips and goddess woman.

PS Incase my wife reads this I love you honey!
Merry Christmas every body!

GS:

I know that house.
It would make a great weekend hideaway.

Just walk down on the rocks, throw a cast and watch
the rod from the house!!!! Might even be able to cast from the porch or window.

I could still come up with several more "self serving wishes"...
Florida keys during the off season.... would be nice.

I would take my pick, and use it to give my uncle good health. He was just diagnosed with stomach cancer, and it does'nt look good.

Sorry to hear that Bill, that is very sad and depressing :(
I'll say a prayer for him.

If I got one wish it would be to have a more durable body, mine seems to be wearing out lately. I wouldn't mind getting a 4x4 pickup either.

Bill - I'm sorry to hear that. Hope I pulls thru.

Health

or better yet jump back in life at least 30 years/////////

Bill, no downer - the purpose of this post is to have a little fun and to daydream away at what likely won't happen (why I put that little disclaimer at the top ;) )... All that being said, there is never a bad time to hope for someone that's ill to get better.

Clammer - you can't wish for health - this thread assumes that you have good health.

OK, while I'm at it, how about a Bertam Moppie from the late 60's :D - and I'd be OK with going back 15 years :rollem: - maybe 20. If I knew then what I know now.....

A couple of wishes...

1) Health and well-being for all my loved-ones and friends...

2) Finding an occupation that would allow me to pay the bills AND fish hard...

3) A house (=fishing shack) in Chatham or Orleans.

4) A house (=another fishing shack) anywhere in South County, RI.
