Use to play there ,, roudy place .. MrHunters 01-28-2009, 04:43 PM the beachcomber (first reference) is one of my favorite places to see live shows. Man that is a great summertime place.... (as i sit and watch the icy rain hit my window) Eben, maybe you were there... I saw a few ween shows at that place... just awsome 2na 01-29-2009, 07:54 AM Luds, that 'on(e) true Beachcomber' was called Nostalgia for years - and it used to totally rock back in the late 80's. The one on the dune is the real deal. MrH, my buddy has run the place for a good 12 years and says that Ween was the best show he's ever seen there - and there have been some incredible acts there over the summers. CaptMike 01-29-2009, 08:27 AM the beachcomber (first reference) is one of my favorite places to see live shows. Man that is a great summertime place.... (as i sit and watch the icy rain hit my window) Eben, maybe you were there... I saw a few ween shows at that place... just awsome I agree, awesome shows. It is by far my favorite hangout in the summer. I was just looking at the beachcam the other night dreaming of drinking dark and stormies and sitting on that outside deck. Gunpowder 01-29-2009, 08:40 AM omg i miss that place.... spent a fair amount of time there this summer  Clogston29 01-29-2009, 08:41 AM i spent a St. Patrick's day there once. or atleast that's what i'm told, i don't really remember :smash: Gunpowder 01-29-2009, 08:45 AM i spent a St. Patrick's day there once. or atleast that's what i'm told, i don't really remember :smash: thats what your friends are for :humpty: CaptMike 01-29-2009, 09:59 AM i spent a St. Patrick's day there once. or atleast that's what i'm told, i don't really remember :smash: Wait at the one in Wellfleet? Were you drinking in the parking lot? Not that I haven't done that before:buds: Great surf spot in the winter CaptMike 01-29-2009, 10:01 AM I don't know why they don't stay open for september, I wonder if they're not allowed or something. I would definitely keep going there not as long as they were open. Swimmer 01-29-2009, 11:35 AM Thank you for this. 2na 01-29-2009, 12:15 PM I've asked him that before, it is just the end of the season, period. Summer's over and the crowd is gone, so the $ must not be there. Kinda hard to justify booking bands unless you know a crowd will be there - in the summer you could book a jug band and it would sell out. Funny story - years back the guy that runs the place asked me to teach him how to surfcast. He would come up to coast guard in Truro and I taught him to flip eels at night. I kept telling him to just go down the hill in front of the Comber after work, but he wanted to fish at CG (I think it was a comfort zone - he had never caught anything anywhere else). Well, one night he went to the bottom of the hill and got cows until his arms hurt, and that was it for driving to CG. MAKAI 01-29-2009, 02:51 PM Mike I use to hang in the Quincy spot in the 70's it was the Beachcomber back then pre nostalgia. The Beams would play early Bowie covers. Poor brain cells never had a chance. The Iceman 6 01-29-2009, 03:18 PM Does this quality as spot burn? CaptMike 01-30-2009, 08:16 AM 110 days until they open! I'm setting up camp tomorrow to make sure I'm first in line to get my local card. BigFish 01-30-2009, 08:26 AM Saw "The Radiators" there once when they were hot!:btu: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
