View Full Version : Places to eat by boat?
CaptMike 02-02-2009, 02:59 PM Hey,
Does anyone know any good places to eat/drink between chatham and hyannis that you can tie the boat up to? I'm from chatham so we don't have anyplace like that. I know brax's is right next to the marina but I don't know if there's anyplace to tie the boat up while you eat. I was thinking maybe the summer shack on bass river? I dunno, let me know if any of you guys have a favorite place. Thanks!
Mike
taJon 02-02-2009, 03:45 PM oak bluffs you can do that.
CaptMike 02-02-2009, 04:01 PM That's cool. Might have to make a run there
Christian 02-02-2009, 04:08 PM that would be cool if we could put a list together by town/port or something. i know of a bunch of places for boaters in boston harbor. sea food, chinese(lowered down by bucket into boat), beer, pizza, a few docks in the northend etc. A restaurant guide to the water.
InTheHole 02-02-2009, 04:25 PM If you can get a spot in Menemsha, you can't go wrong at Larsen's or The Bite, pricey but what isn't on MV.

I was thinking the Summer Shanty. I think that's the closest one to me (Stage Harbor). I guess Bass River Marina has some empty slips or something? It would be cool to get a list going, I'd love to know some places on Nantucket too.
CaptMike 02-05-2009, 08:15 AM does anyone know if brax's landing in saquatucket (sp?) harbor has a place to tie up? They're right next to the muni marina but I'm not sure they keep slips for that.
fish4striper 02-05-2009, 08:26 AM A restaurant guide to the water.
JohnR, How do we get a sticky of this in the boat section, list with different areas of water?
I know a few places in Narr bay

The restaurant doesn't have any dockage, but I think the marina has a couple spots for that sorta thing. Get the Harbor Master on 16 and they'll tell you where to put it. If not, I'd try the old fuel dock, there's never anyone tied up to that anymore...We got people coming in all the time that are tied up for a few hours (oh yeah, I've tended bar there for going on 10 years). If you get there, come to the bar and ask for "Tall Matt" so we can talk some fishin'.

Gee that sounds like a manly drink!! :hihi:
:cheers2:
CaptMike 02-05-2009, 03:14 PM Lol you could make 95% rum and it would put hair on your chest. There's no drink better than good rum on the boat.
taJon 02-05-2009, 04:00 PM if you come North then theres salem, rockport, newburyport, portsmouth, portland.....

My fav to make are margs. I guess our specialty would be frozen drinks that are named after some of the boats in the harbor. I also make a good Old Fashion I'm told.

Moses 02-06-2009, 09:30 PM Brings back memories of last season. This will be good to add to.
Back Eddy - Westport Harbor
CaptMike 02-07-2009, 09:59 PM keep em comin! After pickin oysters for about two hours today I could have used a good place to tie up and drink! LOl:gu:
seabass 02-09-2009, 09:57 AM The Chart room in Pocassett, behind Bassett's Island is a great watering hole, and the Island is a nice place to beach it and barbeque.
MarshCappa 02-23-2009, 10:15 AM A few places in my area that I'm thinking of are the Bridgeway on the South River in Marshfield. Scituate harbor has a few different restuarants also. TKO Malley's, Pier 44 just to name a couple that are right there. Front Street has a bunch of places as well. Not a bad little South Shore adventure. Cohasset has one of my favorites in The Atlantica. Good spot.
Baxters, Dockside (or whatever they call it now),Tugboat Annies, Hyannis has about all you could ask for. Oak Bluffs is a good call. Walk up the hill and take your pick. MarshCappa I'll see you at the B-Waye.......
CaptMike 02-26-2009, 08:18 AM I'm going to have to check out some of the places on bass river and it hyannis this year
